When is the fest running?
We're here all week, from Feb 7th to Feb 14th. Please drop in regularly to leave love and see what else has been left.

How do I leave love for a character?
It's entirely up to you, but here are some examples, for your inspiration. So, for instance, if you're feeling a lot of love for Ron this week, go to his thread HERE and leave your contribution as a comment.

You could post explaining that you've always liked a man with a freckly arse. You could draw a sketch of Ron doing his bad-ass Auror thing. You could write a drabble featuring Ron just being Ron, a kinky PWP, or a 100k Gen rated kid!fic. You could cosplay as Ron and post a photo. Sculpt your interpretation of Ron's face in mashed potato. Or eat a bacon sandwich in his honour and then compose a haiku about how delicious it was. What about some Ron-centric recs? Ron icons, favourite quotes connected to Ron, a Ron fanmix, Ron's name written in fairy lights – if you can think of it, then DO IT.

Leave a description of your contribution in the subject line. Eg, RON: FANMIX, RON: HAIKU, or RON: DRABBLE or just RON: LOVE if it's just general love.

Commenting on other people's contributions, and general chit-chat, is firmly encouraged. Will this mean the threads get a little crazy? WHO KNOWS. :D

What is and isn't allowed?
You can write any pairing, or gen, any length, any genre, any rating. Please use warnings appropriately. Content does not have to be fluffy by any means, but character bashing would not be appropriate at this fest. If you have any doubts, just ask me or capitu.

I've written a 20k fic for the fest, is that OK?
:DDD OF COURSE. If there's anything that you want to host on your own journal, just leave the link in the comment thread.

I can't find a thread for Aunt Marge / Griphook / Trevor! Are only certain characters eligible for love?
Please check the masterlist first, HERE. I'll try to keep the masterlist updated as much as possible, but I do have to sleep and stuff, so please skim through the latest comment threads as well, to see if someone else has begun one for your character. If Aunt Marge or whoever has been cruelly neglected so far, please start your own thread, putting their name in the subject line.

As to who's eligible: EVERYONE. If they feature in the Harry Potter series, they qualify for the fest.

My fanwork deals with more than one character, where shall I put it?
GOOD QUESTION. Did you feel inspired with love for one of the characters more than the others, perhaps? If not... if it's a pairing fic, say Neville / Luna, you could post it on Neville's thread, and leave a link to it on Luna's thread. If it's, say a drawing of the Lestranges, start a thread titled “The Lestrange family” and put it on there. If you still don't know where to put it, just ask me or capitu, or just do something different entirely, if you like; we won't shout at you.

Am I only meant to leave love for my favourite character?
No! Leave love for as many people as you like! You have the whole week to shower as many HP characters as you wish with love. You could even challenge yourself and try to appreciate a character you haven't really given much thought to before.

TEN REASONS WHY I LOVE YOU HARRY:
(From Draco's POV)

1. The entire time they'd spoken, Draco had watched Potter, and finally those nomadic eyes wandered up to meet his own. A second passed, and then two and something, electricity or magic or perhaps it was as simple as recognition, hovered between them in the air. And then Potter's eyes closed and slowly reopened, and with his shy smile—Merlin, it might just kill Draco—he leaned forward and said, "The bangers and mash and Shepherd's pie here are the best I've ever had. 2. If he’d known he was going to see Potter, he would have stayed sober and hard because if there was one thing that Draco had learned in the months that he and Potter had been doing whatever it was they were doing, it was that Potter was dangerous. He’d always known that to some degree, of course, known that Potter had some kind of weird hold over him that made him do stupid things to get his attention or prove him wrong. But that was before he’d known this Potter, the one that came to him in the middle of the night and wrung pleasure from him until Draco was mindless and shaking and begging for release. The Potter who knew all of Draco’s secrets, who drew Draco’s emotions out of him as easily as drawing water from a well. Draco stops in the door frame, reaching out to steady himself because Harry's standing on the other side of the room, seemingly unharmed. Reasons why I love Luna

I love Luna so much, she's a character I identify with for many reasons.

-In school, like Luna, I was considered the weird one because of my ideas. I like to think that Luna related with Harry easier because she met someone who tried to be her friend and didn't call her weird in a bad way if that makes sense.

-She's pretty level headed in many situations. I liked how she was in the dungeons, but she didn't let that stop her. She kept her head in a scary situation and I love her for that.

-Luna is a very kind person and I think she would be the first ones to give someone a second chance.

-I liked that even though she was bullied in school she didn't let that stop her. When I read how some kids hid her shoes and books I knew if it happened to me I would've written to go home for the rest of the term. Luna didn't and I really admire her strength to keep going like that.

-Also it's my little headcanon that Luna would help put people together like Harry and Draco, George and Blaise, Ginny and Cormac, and other couples and she would listen whenever a couple had a fight and wouldn't pick sides, but try to get both sides to see what happened and how they can fix it.

-I like to think that when she has Lorcan and Lysander she's not a very strict mother, but she doesn't hesitate to tell her boys about the world. I think she would encourage their imaginations and not to be someone different to please others because she didn't change and she found a good group of people.

-Her imagination is wonderful and there were times I could see that she did it to help her father and as a coping mechanism when things became rough.

-Another reason I love Luna she didn't change herself for anyone and reading that in middle school really helped. ^^

So a couple of reasons why I love Luna Lovegood.

Omgosh, Pansy! I love her. And what's more, in one of my *many* headcanons, Harry loves her too! Why? Because she's sassy; funny; witty; smart; great with her wand and great with his wand; her hair is always immaculate except after a) sex and b) waking up; she loves unicorns and hates bugs and screams at mice but coos at lizards; and she's never needed to be saved, but she lets Harry do it sometimes anyway because she knows he needs someone to save. (That's why she screams at the mice.) She's bitchy and observant and she knows everyone's weaknesses...and everyone's strengths, too. Because she's Pansy.

My subscription to Photoshop expired last week so I can't whip up anything new for her right now, but Birds said it was okay to post this piece I made in January so her thread wouldn't go unloved. :(:(:(:(

Dear Hagrid,

You great giant you. Heart of gold, this one. You have such a kind disposition and you're loyal to those you call friends (regardless of species). You're passionate about what you do and I don't know that you've gotten as much respect as you should for it. I'm fairly sure you're the only person with enough respect for the creatures of the Forbidden Forest that they would let you pass through with relative ease. We could all take a page from your book and learn to respect others and their customs.

Now, I've a gift for you but maybe we should keep it a secret for now. I'm sure harry's probably asked someone about that Heir of Slytherin rubbish that happened and exonerating you of all charges. But since I've been dying for this to happen (and I'm sure you have too) let's get you a wand. And seriously, keep it on the down low until it's all sorted out.
