You've got to get obsessed and stay obsessed

First of all, it always feels so ruddy awkward posting after a massive break, but I'll dispense with the shuffling around and just go for it.

Yesterday I signed up for hd_erised for another year and realised I had not acknowledged anything about the fact that some of the mod team are stepping down. Erised has been one of the absolute highlights in my fandom calendar and I can't really think about it without getting a mix of excitement, nerves, joy and amazement. The amount of work the mod team have put in each year is phenomenal and I have no idea how they manage to keep everything running so smoothly and make it the glorious experience that we love. Each time my assignment has challenged me to do things I didn't know I could do, and I know other participants have experienced the same, because the work that has been created for Erised is among the finest that we have in this fandom. Also, most years I was a monstrous pain in the arse with deadlines, and the mods always worked with me to make sure I could still submit.

I want to say a very heartfelt thank you to gracerene , capitu  and sassy_cissa  for their patience, care, love, dedication, kindness, and hard work which always went above and beyond, for creating something which has been like no other fest. ♥ ♥ ♥ 

 

And good luck to the incoming mod team along with grace who is sticking around for another year!

I-- I don't know what this is. How-- I-- ? There used to be words, and sentences, and things, and now there's just THIS ART.

It's the hand. Harry's hand, and Draco's wand, and OMG THE TROUSERS, but the HAND, NGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH, I just-- OH GOD WHYYYY, I USED TO HAVE A LIFE AND NOW THIS.

I was good and resisted posting it here full size so that you can all go to tumblr and worship the artist in person. But really I want to wallpaper my house with it. Or just my retinas. I could have it surgically implanted on my retinas, yes?

It has been quite a while since anything got me right in the feels like this, like I'm just FIZZING with H/D and my entire body is just a ball of SLASHY FANGIRL ECSTASY, and it just won't stop.

Draco's arse. It's some form of Dark magic. But the hand, though. *whimper*

Well, it was my birthday last week, and I had the most amazing time. Me and Mr Birds and the boys had a really super family day planned, and that all went well and I'll tell you about it in a bit. And I had a great time later, seeing my friend and going out to the cinema, and that was fabulous, too.

But, the thing that really floored me was the ~~FANDOM LOVE~~. OMG, you chaps really know how to make a person feel special. The internet connection where we were was a bit crappy, but I kept getting bursts of it and then just DYING with laughter or hotness or just perfectness at the things that were happening on LJ. catplusfox just said it was like I was buried in fandom love, and, wow, it's a great thing to be, that's all I am saying.

I have to share all the brilliant things with you. I honestly feel like the luckiest bird ever. Take a deep breath, because it's all too good and too much fun.

I was going to also talk about RL stuff that happened that day, but it got too long, so I'll do birthday part 2 very soon.

The subject line is the only thing I can think of to accurately describe my feelings on reading the A/N for the fic I am about to rec. Yes, I did flail. omi_ohmy has the incriminating evidence via email. :DDD I keep going back to check it ACTUALLY DOES SAY MY NAME on it, but, as of 9 pm this evening, it does. (I may take a screenshot just in case SG has a change of heart. You think I am kidding.) Anyway. I've finished breathing into a paper bag, just about. :D
