Announcing the Draco Malfoy Birthday Love Fest!

Please join me for a week of Draco love and appreciation, in honour of his 33rd birthday on June 5th.

What is happening at the Love Fest? Whatever you like! Please bring your drabbles, prompts, arts, gifs, quotes, squee, meta, and general flailing. Contributions can be slash, het or gen, any pairing, maybe even a crossover, as long as Draco features. Anything from a few words about why you enjoy the character of Draco, or a gif that you thought was cute, to a multi-chapter fic (well, I can be optimistic, can't I?). ALL CONTRIBUTIONS WILL BE ADORED. You don't have to restrict yourself to Perfect!Redeemed!Draco love, either; feel free to celebrate him in all his snarky, spoiled, unrepentant, irritating and glorious nastiness, if you so wish. Just warn for the usual things, if you feel like going dark or kinky.

Everyone is welcome; please don't be shy, just jump in. If no-one else comments, I will just fill up the thread by myself. :D Please post any contributions as a comment to this post, with a relevant title so people can navigate the fest more easily. eg. Prompt: Harry/Draco, or Fill: Draco/Hermione, or My favourite quotes about Draco or My favourite Draco fanart, or whatever it is you want to share.

Dear Diary,

A most vexing day. I was keen for Potter to see my new pants, and also to try out one or two other things I picked up in Elvira's Erotic Emporium an exclusive little boutique that's opened in Knockturn Alley. However, despite waiting most of the morning artfully arranged on the chaise longue, my back view perfectly positioned to give the best effect for anyone stepping out through the Floo, Potter never arrived.

He nearly always calls on me at some time after 11 am, usually bearing gifts. I have taught him not to arrive any earlier, because it spoils my digestion to have him pawing me about too soon after breakfast, but the poor creature does get impatient to see me. I remained poised until at least midday, at which time my gluteus maximus was going into spasms from the constant flexing. I made Clunky give it a good rub down with an ointment I make from the tears of Puffskeins, which is particularly soothing for the muscles. I don't think any permanent damage has been done, but I intend to stay in bed for the rest of the day just in case.

I do hope Potter is not seriously ill. He might not be able to take me out to Lumos tomorrow as promised, and I've already told the Prophet and a few dozen of the more upmarket publications that we will be dining there from 9 pm.

Dear Diary,

Potter is really acting most oddly. We did go to Lumos, but I found his attention kept wandering from my fascinating anecdotes of all the trips I have ever taken to Paris. He did not even listen properly to my description of what happened when I was five, when I amazed everyone by speaking perfect French with an impeccable accent. They would not take our money in the chocolatier's, because it gave them great honour to serve such a beautiful child.

I remember it all very clearly; I am sure Father flashing his Dark Mark was accidental, and they probably wanted us out of the shop in a hurry so that they could firecall the press about our visit.

Either way, Potter was uncharacteristically quiet, and didn't laugh an adequate amount at my jokes, nor hold my hand and gaze into my eyes adoringly as many times as usual. It was most irritating. He claimed to be 'tired' and 'have a lot to do' at the moment. Why on earth he thinks I want to hear about his petty and banal troubles when we are out to dinner, I do not know. The whole thing nearly put me off my poitrine de canard au foie gras, but I managed to force most of it down with a bottle of Burgundy and had a little room left for a very nice tarte au citron.

Potter was highly apologetic when I pointed out, in some detail, his boorish behaviour. I think depriving him of a thorough shagging his goodnight kiss will also have driven the message home.

It's late now, but I have sent Clunky out to get an early edition of the Prophet, to see if they have any decent pictures of me at Lumos. I hope they don't refer to me as “the former Death Eater” again. Some people do harp on and find it hard to let the littlest things go. They really should have learned to forgive and forget by now; letting Death Eaters into Hogwarts was something that could have happened to anybody, for instance.

Draco's Diary, Pt 4

Dear Diary,

I awoke to Potter's owl tapping on the window with a very satisfactory and remorseful letter for me. After I had read it three or four times, and had a leisurely breakfast, I thoughtfully sent a swift reply to put him out of his misery. He Flooed over immediately, and we enjoyed a pleasant couple of hours in my chambers trying out my purchases from earlier in the week. Potter says I should go shopping with Pansy more often, although his face when he saw the cat o' nine tails and the leather collar accessories I had bought him, was a picture.

Father, rather annoyingly, once again spent the time Potter was here in the next room, breaking things, and wailing in a most distracting manner. I think his mind wanders a little sometimes; he seemed to be under the impression there was someone else in the room, a “damned perverted nancy boy.”

I am pleased to report that we didn't let this interruption put us off our stroke spoil our time together. Indeed, Potter seemed to make a point of shouting enthusiastic encouragements to me, and expressing loud appreciation of my talents. He had the most peculiar expression afterwards, and had to hide his face in a handkerchief, when I noticed that his Muffling Charm had not been successful and that Father would have heard every sound we made. I expect he was racked with remorse at disturbing the peace of a loveable and harmless old man in his twilight years like that.

I think I may ask Mother to delay Father's mid-morning brandy until after Potter has visited me each day, as it doesn't seem to put him in the best of moods. I was hoping to inherit those heirlooms in a few years; mending charms ruin the patina and also lower the market value dreadfully.
