Announcing the Draco Malfoy Birthday Love Fest!

Please join me for a week of Draco love and appreciation, in honour of his 33rd birthday on June 5th.

What is happening at the Love Fest? Whatever you like! Please bring your drabbles, prompts, arts, gifs, quotes, squee, meta, and general flailing. Contributions can be slash, het or gen, any pairing, maybe even a crossover, as long as Draco features. Anything from a few words about why you enjoy the character of Draco, or a gif that you thought was cute, to a multi-chapter fic (well, I can be optimistic, can't I?). ALL CONTRIBUTIONS WILL BE ADORED. You don't have to restrict yourself to Perfect!Redeemed!Draco love, either; feel free to celebrate him in all his snarky, spoiled, unrepentant, irritating and glorious nastiness, if you so wish. Just warn for the usual things, if you feel like going dark or kinky.

Everyone is welcome; please don't be shy, just jump in. If no-one else comments, I will just fill up the thread by myself. :D Please post any contributions as a comment to this post, with a relevant title so people can navigate the fest more easily. eg. Prompt: Harry/Draco, or Fill: Draco/Hermione, or My favourite quotes about Draco or My favourite Draco fanart, or whatever it is you want to share.

The Love Fest will run here from June 2nd to June 10th. Do spread the word with a banner! Choose from happy-rainbow-sparkly-fluff Draco, or moody-black-shirt-and-cheekbones Draco. Or take them both, to make yourself an amazing DRACO SANDWICH. :DD

I've had passionate debates on this subject. I really think he was marked (although I agree there's no absolute proof one way or the other). He showed Borgin something on his forearm that sent the man into shock. What else could it be? (Given it sadly wasn't a werewolf bite, as I'd hoped.)

I must admit I feel the same as you - it kills me I can't point to a specific phrase which confirms it. For me the Borgin scene is confirmation enough but I know some definitely disagree, which is why I was keen to start a thread on this point <3

I agree that he is Marked, and that the Borgin scene confirms it, along with all the other evidence that point towards it.

It does give me a jolt initially in fic where the author has chosen to have Draco un-Marked, but in fanfic, at least, it's a totally viable choice.

I'm always interested in the 'Draco was bitten' theory but I never heard the idea that he was showing Borgin a werewolf bite. That's a great possibility.

I was hoping SO HARD that he was a werewolf. It would have made me incredibly happy. But, alas...

There was an amazing essay up somewhere, putting for the argument that Draco had been bitten (this was pre-DH, obviously). And the idea that he might have shown a bite to Borgin was part of it, because he mentioned Fenrir almost immediately afterwards.

I think sometimes there a large element of "I really, really don't want him to be marked so I can minimise the horribleness of his actions" in not-marked argument. Sometimes.

There are a few that I absolutely love, but sadly not enough of them. :D It's such a gorgeous idea! He's turned into the thing he fears and despises more than anything. And then Harry has to help him through it. *happy sigh*
