I am half filled with excitement and half worried that I will miss out on the assignments that I'm all 'Ooh!' about (there's one dream one, but three who I would still definitely buy a drink for so far, and I haven't even checked the most recent signups), with a side order of 'Will I break the other arm?'
And as for picking in advance, there are always the ones I hope for. And sometimes I read 'Really love a plotty political post-Hogwarts fic with lots of comedy' and I think, 'Hmmm, 75% chance I'll be reading your name come assignment time ...' which is fair enough, really! They call it typecasting for a reason :-)
