hd_erised, and not had much time for reading. What I have read has mostly been from other people's rectober posts, and very glorious and diverse they have been, too, but I didn't want to re-rec things. Luckily my talented flist provided me with these two beauties. They're both short and gorgeous.Study Buddies by
blithelybonny (H/D, 3,100 words, NC-17).This is very dear to my heart. It's the latest (and possibly the last) entry for my favourite comment fest, Anywhere but the Bed. The loveliest thing about this fest, IMO, apart from the fact that it was all about semi-public sex, was the way that people were getting inspired and creative from each others' ideas. There were fics inspired by other fics, and the whole trope of the Potters' Annual Barbeque (which frankly seemed to be an annual orgy), and art inspired by the fest banner. Well, now we have FIC inspired by the ART inspired by the fest banner. I've waffled, but please don't miss this fic. It's so deliciously dirty, with a wicked, flirty Draco in pink trainers, just begging for a spanking in the library. \o/

You Just Never Know by
lumosed_quill (H/D, Harry/Scorpius UST, Draco/Scorpius UST, 365 words, NC-17).Oh, god, what a joy this is. A filthy, hot little bundle of joy. *bats eyelashes at it*. Lumos wrote a few different pairings for
hogwarts365 this week (and looking at her LJ, I missed some, so yay for more things to read...), and this was for the request 'Harry/Draco/Scorpius'.A word about the pairings: I can be rather squicky about parent/child incest, but Draco and Scorpius, those two terrible boys, are my least squicky. However this fic just hints at UST between them, so it really ramped up the wrongness in a pleasurable way without freaking me out. Don't let it scare you off unless you've got a rock solid incest squick.
I don't know how
lumosed_quill packs so much punch into such a little fic. The dynamics here are glorious, and it bears re-reading again and again to savour every single dirtywrong word. *~*
I've seen a lot of people reccing some really out there pairings and fandoms this month. I've READ some really out there pairings this month. That terrible
who_la_hoop sent me a GoveBalls fic! She's shocking! So, not wanting to feel left out, I give you: McFassy. McFassy is a portmanteau ship name which is just cracking me up. It's James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender. Yup. RPS. I'm not ashamed.I didn't even know McFassy was a thing until I saw this art on
alby_mangroves' journal, and it stole my heart away: Made You a Thing. I can't really improve on alby's summary, which is: Fleecebender and Knitavoy: the story of two gingers in love. Drawn for this prompt, which sounds like it would be right at home in our very own Career Fair: James is a yarn shop owner and knitwear designer; Michael raises sheep. Autumn hillsides and carding wool and conversations out amongst the nosy sheep... James secretly making sweaters for Michael from his own flock, perhaps, the long lines of that body a constant inspiration, not to mention the way James can't stop thinking about making sure Michael stays warm, Made You a Thing ought to be ludicrous crack, but somehow alby makes it touching and believable and joyful and romantic and STRANGELY HOT. And, OK, it is quite funny too ;-)*~*
And, finally, I was feeling a bit nostalgic, and went hunting for a few of my favourites from past Career Fairs:
Can't We Love and Joke Around? is a fabulous piece of art frompearljamz with Draco as a fashion designer and Harry as his model - it's funny, flirty and romantic.
And finally, the thing I have probably snorted most over since joining fandom: drawn for Mr Birds prompt, bynaturegirlrocks, it's a pitch-perfect HP/Sesame Street crossover. I leave you with the incomparable, indescribable genius that is Let Go of the Wand. Please enjoy.
