My likes and dislikes

 ****Updated August 2018: Just a note in case you're writing or drawing for me for Erised or another fest and found your way here.... this likes and dislikes list is a little out of date now, and some of it is not always relevant - for example, I'd quite enjoy reading some of the things from my 'no thanks' list for this year's Erised. I know the mods have encouraged people to stalk around people's journals to get more info about them, but it's probably safer to refer to my sign up rather than this post. Updated March 2016: Edited to give a bit of an overhaul. Also, I'm using this space to dump random fic ideas that I'm craving. I might at some point use some of these to prompt at fests, but please feel free to take them and use as inspiration if you like any of them.

The original intro:

I've noticed a few people doing this and thought it looked quite fun, as much as anything else! I hope it might be helpful in the possibility that you were writing something for me for a fest, but I am really pretty easy to please, so don't feel the need to stress at all.

Favourite Pairings:

• Harry / Draco is my OTP. ♥


• Draco / Albus Severus. I am also completely obsessed with this pairing. I like an innocent, sweet Albus seduced by a predatory Draco, but I'm also a sucker for a more seductive Al who Draco tries and fails to resist. I'd probably be happiest if Draco tries to resist because he knows he's taking a massive risk giving in to his desires, rather than because of any moral scruples. ;-) I'm delighted if Draco is secretly wanting Harry when he is with Al. Or, if he hates or is indifferent to Harry, but sees something in Albus, that's fine too. Poor Harry, I love it when he's scandalised by this pairing.


• Harry / Scorpius. I like this best when Harry is horrified and unwilling, but does it anyway. Happy if he is reminded of a young Draco, but this isn't required.


• Albus / Scorpius can be fun, especially with a bit of edge to it. For instance, I like it if Scorpius is rather excitingly immoral, or manipulating Al, or seducing him to shock their parents, rather than it being perfect true love.


• I appear to have fallen head over heels for Draco/Albus Severus/Scorpius. I love the Malfoys sharing Albus. I'm not usually comfortable with overt incest between Draco and Scorpius. I enjoy situations that walk the line, such as them enjoying Al together, or taking turns with him.

General likes:

• I love Ron and Hermione, together or separately. I adore Horrified!Ron if it's humorous. Or surprise me and write Wise!Accepting!Ron ;-)


• I love Luna, Lupin, Snape, Dudley, the Malfoys, Slytherins being horrifying or humorous, Goyle, Neville and Millicent.

Things I'm not usually too keen on:

• Infidelity if it's miserable


• Mpreg doesn't usually grab me, although I've got no strong objections


• Creature fic is not a favourite, although I'm quite fond of Veela!fic (Veela = dubcon?)


• Lots and lots about the next gen kids if it's a H/D fic, or, overly cute children


• Plotty mysteries or whodunnits

Things I would rather not read:

• Heavy angst


• Addiction / alcoholism


• Self-harm, suicide, depression


• Gore, viscera


• (in general) Incest.


• (in general) Non-con - this is no way a hard squick but it's tricky for me to explain simply when I like and dislike it


• Torture


• Chan. I'm happy with age 15 or 16 if both partners are similar age. If there's age disparity I prefer both partners be 17 or over.


• Explicit het or femslash


• Major character death


• Child abuse


• Domestic violence


• Basically anything that's a major downer. I don't find misery and suffering cathartic to read about, at all.

I don't have a problem with:
- Cheerful drug or alcohol use.
- Heartachey pining on the road to getting together.

Things I adore (specifically in smut):

• "Shouldn't be doing this". I have been thinking about this a lot lately, and I think this is the one theme most likely to press my buttons. I just bloody love it when the people involved are not meant to be doing whatever they're doing. Whether it's because they are enemies, boss/employee, teacher / pupil, there's a big age-difference, or perhaps they're meant to be on duty, or their family hate the other person, or one of them thinks they're straight anyway, or they're in detention, or at work, or one of them's a priest, or any other kinky thing your mind can dream up :DD. Any element of dub-con really works, as well.


• Antagonism. This is such a major part of what I like about H/D. I enjoy seeing their frustration, anger, snark, jealousy, bitterness, irritation, resentment and aggression while they're getting together, and I like it when this still shows when they're in a relationship. I enjoy this being verbal or physical. I love them having strong feelings which flip from antagonism to desire in such a way that it almost feels like the same thing.


• I love dub-connish magical things such as Polyjuice Potion, Veritaserum, and Lust Potions.


• BDSM, esp spanking, paddling, blindfolds, handcuffs, collars, ropes, restraints, kneeling, orgasm denial. I like formal BDSM but I also like it if there are just hints or undercurrents of it in an otherwise vanilla sex scene, eg pinning hands above head, teasing powerplay.


• Blow jobs, especially on knees. I really can't tell you how much I love blow jobs.


• Coming on face or lips or stomach or elsewhere. Preferably after a blow job. I may have mentioned I like blow jobs? ;-).  Deliberately wanking onto the person's body / face also gets a big thumbs up from me.


• Hand jobs. Frottage. At the moment I have a real thing for clothed frottage, where they can't even wait to get their clothes off, but I love the naked kind, too. Intergluteal sex (fucking between the buttocks with no penetration). I am fond of anal sex, but I probably love all the other stuff even more.


• Wanking, especially thinking of a hated / inappropriate person or at an inappropriate time (unwilling arousal). Being caught / overheard wanking is great.


• Desperation - not being able to wait to get undressed, not being able to wait until a more appropriate time or place, coming too soon, feeling painfully aroused, begging, frantic desire. Short refractory periods are great, too.


• Kissing. Lots of kissing.


• Biting


• Rough or angry or jealous or frustrated sex


• Sleepy sex


• Tender and intense sex


• Favourite body parts: Hair, jaw, throat, Adam's apple, collarbones, biceps, hands, stomach, hipbones, cock, balls, arsecheeks. Er. Is that basically all the body parts anyway? I dunno.


• Large, thick cocks. Not monstrous, but a good size. For some reason this was one of the most embarrassing things to type? LOL, IDK.


• Loudness during sex. Especially if it's an inappropriate time / place but they just can't help themselves.


• Power play. Inequality.


• Mindfucks, including Legilimency and mind control spells.


• Age disparity. Cross gen.


• Teacher / pupil, boss / lackey scenarios, whether real or role-played.


• Dub con. I really adore dub con. Probably best to avoid dub con combined with drunkenness / drugged state, unless it's a darker fic with an unredeemed!Draco, in which case I could make an exception. ;)


• Beards, shaving, hair washing, hair fetishes, and body hair, either just in description, or a full on body hair kink.


• Scents: cologne, body odour (if not rank), smell of hair, genitals, skin, etc. I love sensory descriptions in fic in general, especially involving tactile things, tastes and / or smells.


• Voyeurism. Exhibitionism. Semi-public sex.


• Watching the person with another partner or deliberately flirting / performing sexual acts to make the other person jealous, or to turn them on. I'd rather this didn't veer into angsty non-consensual infidelity. But I'm happy for full on jealousy during the getting-together stage, and frissons of it in an established relationship, or a poly / open relationship.


• Role playing, whether light-hearted or intense


• Androgyny / gender play, eg make up, long hair on boys, androgynous / revealing clothing. I don't especially like frou frou sort of stuff or lingerie on men, though. But tight jeans, sheer shirts, nail varnish, eyeliner, etc, are all a hit with me.


• Uniforms: boots, leather, buttons, buckles, hats


• Clothing: formal clothing, shirts, waistcoats, ties, being sharply-dressed, immaculate clothing (if this gets ripped off later so much the better).


• Formal clothing made informal, eg sleeves rolled up, buttons undone on shirt. One partner clothed or well-dressed and the other naked, half-dressed or scruffily dressed. (If it's H/D I prefer Draco to be the well-dressed one).


• Unwilling arousal. Embarrassing arousal. Inappropriate arousal. Horrified arousal! :D


• Shower sex. Bath sex. Sex in the Great Lake :D. I really love skinny dipping <3. Soaking wet clothing is also sdfghjsdfghj!


• Confined spaces. Forced bedsharing. Forced proximity. Forced bonding.


• Gay for you / bisexuality (not explicit het, please) / coming to terms with sexuality. Also completely happy to have characters who are confident and untroubled about being gay.


• First times. Inexperience. Clumsiness. Innocence. Awkwardness. Nervousness. Either both partners are nervous or one being more composed and experienced. (if it's H/D, I usually prefer Draco to be more composed, but I love an inwardly nervous Draco who's trying to hide it, as well).

Kinks I'd rather not read

• Knifeplay

• Humiliation when it's not being enjoyed by both as a kink

• Choking during blow jobs, excessive drooling

• Object insertion - sometimes I'm OK with this but it's a tricky one


• I'm ambivalent about name-calling: “slag”, “whore”, “bitch”. I don't mind "tart" used light-heartedly. I'm warming up to use of "slut" in dirty talk - used by Draco, not Harry. I don't like feminising language used to shame.


• Use of words “pussy”, “hole”, “cunt”, “gash” etc, “wet, dripping hole”, "tits", etc


• Cross-dressing used to humiliate or shame.


• Torture


• Extreme kinks

Topping / Bottoming

• I don't mind who tops or bottoms, really, although I very much enjoy the dynamic of a toppy!Draco, i.e. a Draco who is in charge, powerful, competent, perhaps wickedly manipulative. I don't mind who actually takes it up the arse, though, and I enjoy switching, perhaps most of all when it's described as a new or rare thing. I often enjoy the theme of bottoming = love and trust. So one partner bottoming for the first time, a Dom bottoming for the sub, or older/powerful partner for the younger/insubordinate partner, or as a one off special event, can be really hot / meaningful.

BDSM roles:

• I tend to enjoy stories with Draco as the Dom. I believe Draco's vulnerabilities and disenfranchisement after the War would make him naturally want to take the dominating role. Likewise, I see Harry finding great relief and satisfaction in letting go as a sub. I can read the other way round as long as Harry isn't cruel for the sake of it, and Draco isn't weak and needy (see below).

Characterisation

• I don't enjoy Draco in a stereotypically feminised role, or as someone who is, above all, weak and in need of rescuing. As stated above, I'm fine with Draco bottoming... it's the characterisation that sometimes goes with that, of Draco as weak or feminine, that I dislike. I'm fine with Draco having vulnerabilities - that's my head canon for him - but I want them hidden, either partially or completely! I don't mind a brattish side to him, especially a Hogwarts-era Draco. But I don't much enjoy a whiny, delicate, passive, or princessy Draco.


• I can't believe in a cruel or selfish Harry, unless you show me good reason why he has become that way (and to be honest, I'm unlikely to enjoy the fic even if you do).

Darker themes:

• I really love dub con. Really really. Anything that plays around with consent, even to an uncomfortable degree, is fine by me. If you're going VERY dubious consent, though, I do need there to be some element of 'wanting it really' or conflicted desire in there somewhere. Non con is best avoided.


• I love an unredeemed Draco, although I like redeemed Draco too. (I basically like all of the Dracos :D).


• I find it hard to believe in a completely Dark!Harry, or a carelessly immoral Harry. I like it where one person is being exploited / manipulated / controlled / lied to / coerced, but I like the wicked one to be Draco.


• I like Harry to still have some fight in him, even if Draco is 'winning'. I don't like a broken and bowed Harry (a Harry who chooses to submit for his own pleasure is another thing entirely).

Prompts:

Basically this is a place for me to dump random ideas that I am not planning to write myself. I may prompt some of these at fests where appropriate. Please help yourself if you'd like to create something for any of them.

- Fic inspired by THIS AMAZING ART. I want Defiant!LittleShit!Draco being interrogated, and Harry being there (as an Auror?) and Draco being furious and bitter and close to snapping. Veritaserum is a kink of mine. Draco looks like he's handcuffed in the art, just saying. I want him close to the edge, but not broken or penitent. Then desperate sex occurs, possibly on the table? steely-jawed Harry struggling and failing to keep himself in check around Malfoy, plus unwilling arousal a HUGE PLUS.

- Any ART with Draco as a tailor / clothes shop owner / stylist and Harry as a clueless customer. It would be brilliant to have Draco in gorgeous chic clothes (either wizarding or Muggle) and Harry in jeans and baggy jumper, and then ~transformed to be stylishly irresistible . With plenty of UST en route, of course.

- Scorpius and Albus Severus have got their hands on some kind of hallucinogenic drugs and are off their faces. Harry and Draco discover them and are amusingly appalled. This would be lovely with Scorpius/Albus as a new relationship / getting together fic. H/D could be in a relationship, at the UST stage, or still loathe each other. Please let Scorpius and Albus have a happy fun time while tripping - miserable drug use makes me sad.

- Harry really doesn't want to live at Grimmauld Place after the war. Too many bad memories - not to mention Kreacher, Great Aunt Walburga, random Cursed objects, etc. He decides to get rid of it, but for some reason it's not the easiest place to sell. Enter Draco Malfoy, estate agent. I'd love a comedy for this one - with the pain in the arse aspects of the house playing a large part in the proceedings.

- After the war, Draco rejects everything about his previous life to experiment with alternative lifestyles. Harry goes to a music festival and bumps into Draco, who now has rainbow hair / dreadlocks / piercings / tattoos / bare feet / shirtless / lives in a camper van / sleeps in a treehouse / drinks chai tea / plays the bongos / all that kind of thing.

I hope this might be helpful in some way. Are there topics I've forgotten? Or is it just much too long? I might update at some point to talk about things I like in art, but it's pretty much the same as this, I suppose.

Excellent! I mean, one of the things that makes fandom interesting is the fact that we are all different, but it's nice to find things we have in common, too!
