H/D recs and flail

Gosh, what a very exciting day for art and fic. I woke up late and LJ was just FULL of gorgeous stuff and I have only just had time to finish looking and commenting properly on it.

First, I was excited to see a fab new artist posting absolutely charming sketches. Book Buddies by 8c, here or here. I love their poses, Draco's pointy elegance, and the gorgeous kiss. I'm so happy with the way you can tell Harry's really into it even though his face is obscured.

Then my prompt posted at hp_kinkfest, and, oh boy, I got art AND fic. Out the Box, Out of Line (art, NSFW, mild bondage) and fic, by the multi-talented shine_alive. My prompt was for either Harry or Draco to take the other prisoner, and for it to become obvious that the captor finds it arousing to be tied up. I'm thrilled with what the author has done with it. It's a deliciously hot little scene, and to have the story illustrated too is the icing on the cake.

Finally, I am almost speechless at this incredible Starfighter / HD crossover art that my lovely new friend catplusfox has drawn for me. I just... I'm not worthy. OMG! Some days Starfighter obsesses me almost as much as H/D, and to have them both smooshed together like this, with EYE-FUCKING, and POINTINESS, and SHINY UNIFORMS is just beyond gorgeous. It's reasonably SFW (the art, that is, not Starfighter!!) and WHOLLY FABULOUS. You definitely don't need to read Starfighter to enjoy its glory. Here it is: Starpotter.

The above people are all quite new to posting H/D art and fic (some brand new) and I really hope people will go and love on them a lot. I always think we are lucky to have some amazing people in H/D, but artists in particular seem to move on to other things. When we find good ones, I want to cherish and adore them as if they were my firstborn children. :DDD

I was also going to post pictures of me and some friends at a Doctor Who costume party, but I'm running out of time, so I will do that later.

Oh, btw, if anyone was wondering, in between squeeing and dressing up, I did also make a start on my Harry!bang and I'm so happy to be writing again. It's only at 3.5k at the moment, but I hope to improve on that today (and firethesound has promised me a filthy treat when I get to 4.5k, which is totally the best kind of motivation ♥ ). I'm amazed when people can write and post their WIP. Mine are always a complete mess of holes and wonky bits, and I don't usually know where I am going until I get there. Then, when I've finished, I have to go back and redo the start so that it makes sense!

Fire is all round lovely. I believe the thing she is writing is actually a gift for all of us. I think she's just holding it hostage until I pull my finger out a bit more :DD

Funny you should say that, because someone was telling me the other day that there were two kinds of writers: quilters and scarf-knitters. Apparently, you're a quilter, which makes it difficult to post a WIP indeed!
I'm basically a scarf-knitter, writing linearly (?) but this is changing. For my Tropes fic, I had some scenes that were not necessarily written in the right order.

And that's why Harrybang is a huge challenge, because I'm afraid of having to go back and redo the start on such a long story! :P It's not that I'm lazy, it's rather that I'm afraid I will find it's crap and will have to rewrite half of it! But that's the fun of writing a really long story I guess! :D

Well, in this case, you have to write those missing 1k!!!!! :P (no pressure, lol).
