All kinds of good things are happening today.

First, I'm happy to be able to claim my [livejournal.com profile] dracotops_harry fic, yay! I wrote something quite absurd, but I had such fun doing it. I understand the consent warnings may be offputting; all I can say to reassure you is that it's a humorous fic and not angsty in any way.

I also have to own up to possibly being a bit naughty. I love top!Draco, it's a real favourite for me, but knowing that I *had* to write top!Draco set off my mischievous streak. I wondered if I could write a bottom!Harry while somehow subverting the situation. Anyway, my brain came up with this:

Title: Be Prepared
Author: [livejournal.com profile] birdsofshore
Summary: Draco was just trying to have a quiet bath. Now Potter has some explaining to do.
Rating: NC-17
Warning(s): Major consent issues, although everyone has a mighty fine time. Sneaky!Harry. Voyeurism. Ridiculousness.
Word Count: ~3600
Author's Notes: Dear [livejournal.com profile] traintracks, you leave the best prompts. I am not quite sure this was exactly what you had in mind, but I very much hope you'll enjoy it anyway. Many thanks to my lovely betas, [livejournal.com profile] zeitgeistic and [livejournal.com profile] omi_ohmy.

Another very gratifying thing about [livejournal.com profile] dracotops_harry reveals is that I could find out who wrote Let's Go Outside. This was a monster hit with me, and I was delighted to find it was by the charming [livejournal.com profile] barefacedbandit. We have only been friends about two weeks (I realise now that her friend request was prompted by my rather effusive comment, LOL) and I am always thrilled when an excellent writer sproings suddenly onto my radar like this. I don't know much about anything else she has written, but I intend to find out, and follow her around making whining noises until she writes in all the fests, I can tell you.

In non-LJ news, today I went to see Andrew Scott in Birdland. It was pretty fabulous. Very intense, unsettling, great cast, and Andrew Scott appears to have the most delightful dimples near his arse, which he shimmied for us most agreeably at one point.

Even better than Andrew Scott was my companion for the day. She was the delicious [livejournal.com profile] who_la_hoop and she sends her love. I am hoping she's going to show her face round these parts again here soon, because even though it is extremely lovely to sit next to her at the theatre, I miss her ludicrously hot and funny fic, and her general wondrousness

On the way home on the train there were young men getting changed into pirate and Jedi outfits. I was AGOG. They're probably telling their friends right now about the narrow escape they had from Scary Train Lady. There were floppy shirts and eye liner and knee-high boots. Good job they got off at my stop or I might be sitting there still.

I could go on, to be honest, but that's probably enough happiness for one day. Some annoying things did happen, too: it rained quite a lot, and the bit of the Circle Line I wanted to use was closed, and I think I had PMT because I was reading Jon Ronson, who is jolly funny, but it made me want to cry with the pathos of it all. Oh, and at the theatre I asked at the desk to buy a programme, but what I hadn't realised was that there weren't any, and what they were selling was actually a copy of the play instead. And I was too embarrassed to say I didn't want it, LOL! So I now have a slightly dog-eared copy of Birdland. And no programme. It will make a nice memento. :D

I hope you all had happy days, too, full of piratical boots, dimples, and friends new and old.

It sounds like something a penis would do.

Now watch all the Americans scramble to write the word 'sproings' into all their fics. ;-) :-)
