Why I loved it: Written for the hpsolemnlysworn fest, it's not a pairing I'd normally go for, but oakstone730 always has real tenderness for her characters and she absolutely makes both pairings work. This is a really sensual, sweet BDSM fic. Charlie seeks out transient encounters to relieve the stress of dragon-wrangling after losing his partner Remus. The mysterious Dom known only as Black contacts him to offer an unusual contract.

The scenes between them are beautifully immersive and very hot, but it's the combination of that and the emotional content which kept me reading past my bedtime. I really enjoyed the way things played out between the two men as Black's true identity is revealed. I'd say you don't need to be a BDSM fan to enjoy this, although obviously it wouldn't hurt ;-)

Two fics I really liked from hd_remix:

Two Hearts that Bleat as One is a fabulous reworking of icmezzo's Love Lies Bleating. If you've read the original, you'll want to read it all again from Draco's POV, and if you haven't read either, you are in for a hilarious and completely charming treat.

Harry Potter is a Dirty Exhibitionist is a funny, hot, fast-paced fic about how Harry and Draco end up being caught by Hermione shagging on top of a china cabinet. I laughed and smiled my way through this one. It's packed full of fine smut, but at heart there's a charming romance to it. There's also NC-17 art to go with it, from a very familiar pencil :D

THE DANGERS OF BENDING OVER IN A CAR PARK WEARING SKINTIGHT LYCRA

I originally made this post, including the link to this video, last night, after watching it and thinking what an excellent prank. Basically, a chap with a nice arse hangs around in a car park wearing leggings and bending over the boot of his car, then films men's reactions when they find out they've been eyeing up a bloke. I found it very funny to see how freaked out the voyeurs were, and the way the lycra leggings man taunts them about it. It's got a nice edge of subversion and even a tinge of tragedy to it.

Well, after posting, I went to bed and started fretting about it. I wasn't sure if it really was so hilarious to watch some idiots behaving in a homophobic way, even if they do come out of it looking fuckwitted. I was on my mobile at this point, so I just changed the post to private and decided to think about it in the morning. Sorry for being baffling to those who were reading the post when it went poof! Also, I lost your comment, sorry, sophie_french.

Anyway, here it is again, if you are in the mood for this kind of thing. Maybe it's a profound commentary on homophobia and desire. Maybe it's just funny to see a man literally jump backwards when he realises he's ogled a male arse.
