vaysh11 was in town and I was very excited to meet her for the first time, along with writcraft, melusinahp, and llaeyro. They were all jolly nice and as clever and interesting and funny as you would expect from their online presences. As for who_la_hoop, she is so delicious I wanted to put her in my pocket and keep her forever. This was the first group meet up I have been to, and I was nervous, but having dear omi_ohmy there helped, and everyone was super-lovely and friendly. I did not want to leave, but Mr Birds was struggling at home, so leave I did.
AND.raitala was also among these fandom lovelies, and she was very generously giving away some art, and she let me sit next to her and gibber at her. Well, to be honest she had very little choice in the matter :D I tried to keep a lid on what was basically me being rather overwhelmed by the loveliness of it, but basically f(l)ailed, and now I have raitalart to KEEP for my VERY OWN. They are even more perfect and wonderful in real life. I was really bowled over. This is the one I have managed to find a frame for so far, even though the frame doesn't fit properly, but I needed to display it RIGHT AWAY. A better frame will be obtained shortly.
I am sleeping with it under my pillow.
I couldn't stay for the evening, but I contributed some carrot cake. :D Yes, you can buy edible cake toppers of Nicolas Cage from the internet. FRIGHTENING. By the time they got to the meetup his face had kind of bled into the icing a bit. REALLY FRIGHTENING. Did anybody try some? I had some of the same batch with No Added Nic when I got home and it was very good, though I say so myself.

fandomaid for Typhoon Haiyan. Many writers and artists are offering their services in a fundraiser for relief work HERE .
__hibiscus, whose art I adore but who we hardly ever see around these parts lately, offered art commissions for a donation, and I leapt like an uncoordinated but enthusiastic leaping thing. I have hoped for art for my fic for so long, that I am now completely stumped as to what to choose. __hibiscus' style and colours are so gorgeous, I think she could make any scene look absolutely beautiful. Here's a reminder of her lovely work. So. What the devil shall I ask for? I thought of a few things. Or please suggest your own if you have read my stuff and have any ideas.
