Rectober.... the finale!

This is the last day of Rectober! Do jump in if you want to participate; even one good rec is a fabulous thing ♥
I am so happy I managed to complete my own challenge which was to post recs twice a week for the whole month. Some weeks it was hard, and personally I would struggle to fit that in every month, but I enjoyed it, and I'd definitely like to rec regularly again, perhaps monthly rather than weekly, I'm not sure.
Anyway just one final rec as I am short of time today, but it's a corker:
Title: Sparks From the Fox's Tale
Author: anonymous
Rating: PG-13 (romance, not explicit)
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Summary: Draco is frustrated with his career as a travel writer, when a mini-tirade from Mrs. Weasley and an encounter with the portrait of an intrepid great-great-great-aunt lead him to Finland to study wandless magic. Harry is – just being contrary and following his sweet-tooth, or taking the subtle route to saving the world?
Warnings/Content Notes: No deliberate violence, but an accident involving heavy bleeding.
Word Count: 17,000
Why I loved it: This is such a beautiful, fascinating tale. Draco is able to find a kind of fresh start in Finland, and then some bloke called Harry Potter turns up... Their developing relationship is wonderfully real, gradual, romantic and delicious. There's nakedness in saunas, Draco chopping wood, gorgeous magical songs, a cast of delightful OCs, folklore, Finnish culture, and the story of lovers reunited. I feel like I can't really do it justice in a rec, but please believe me, it's absolutely lovely: gentle, original, charming.
A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS PARTICIPATED IN RECTOBER! I'll post something wrapping it up in the next few days, but it's been great to see so many recs flying around during the month, and I have discovered some new favourite fics and made some new LJ friends, as well. \o/

Date: 2013-10-31 04:42 pm (UTC)Rectober was an awesome thing for you to have conceived and done. It felt like it re-energized fandom and our connections to each other and to fanworks we've loved.

Date: 2013-11-01 01:09 pm (UTC)Rectober really ran itself! I'm so happy people liked the idea. I agree it did feel like there was a lot of energy buzzing around, and I love that feeling, and the sense of community, it's a large part of what I enjoy about fandom.
