I got sorted by LJ - THE RESULTS

Well, 15 lovely flisters very kindly voted in my sorting poll. Aaaaaaand – I am now more confused than ever :D

These were the scores:

Gryffindor 3
Hufflepuff 5
Ravenclaw 3
Slytherin 4

I would have liked a bit more of a clear win, really; it's a bit random, isn't it? Still, it does look like a victory for Hufflepuff. Yay, I'd be happy to be a Puff and was very flattered by the comments about my alleged Hufflepuff qualities.

However, two of my besties on LJ, omi_ohmy and who_la_hoop, THEY didn't think I was a Hufflepuff. Oh no. They both clicked “absolutely certain” (they were the only people to do this) and they both said “Slytherin”. Hmm. Interesting. Ok, I'm a bit scared of this result, but can't say I'm not attracted to the devious and delicious snakes.

But, what if we look at people's second choice answers? The results for this were:

Gryffindor 7
Hufflepuff 2
Ravenclaw 5
Slytherin 1

Not a lot of support for Hufflepuff or Slytherin there. O_o

If you take this into account, with 2 points given for the first choice of house and 1 point for the second choice, you get:

Ravenclaw 11
Slytherin 9

A COMPLETE SHAMBLES, yes?

I am really none the wiser. Therefore, I have decided to make my OWN HOUSE. It will be called Featherbeak. Our House colours will be... hmm. There's not much left, is there? How about purple and orange? Mmm, NICE! Featherbeak is for people who are, well, like me. We stand for, erm, fluff. And cock. And cake. Yay! My own House! Applications welcome. It is a bit lonely here in the common room at the moment.

Have you ever taken the sorting tests on some of the various sites online? I've done several and they are quite thorough, with lengthy questionairs that I think focus on the house traits. Here is a couple that I think are good and not at all random.

Ah, cool, thanks celestlyn! I have tried taking some tests before but the answers never convince me. I think I got Ravenclaw at Hello Quizzy and Slytherin at Pottermore.

I have taken many sortings and I always get Ravenclaw and I don't think I'm a mental giant, by any means. I think it's by default. Because I lack the defining traits of the other houses. I admit to being selfish, but not nearly enough to take advantage of others and I am not particularly cunning or manipulative, so Slytherin is out. I am far too spineless to be a Gryff and much too much of an independent thinker for a Puff. So that leaves me in in Ravenclaw. I do love to read and learn and ponder things. Education is so important. It seems a good fit.

I don't know you well enough to guess what your real live traits are, but a Meyers-Briggss test is great for figuring that stuff out. Just don't get caught up on what you want to be like or think you should be like vs how you really behave.
