Well, 15 lovely flisters very kindly voted in my sorting poll. Aaaaaaand – I am now more confused than ever :D

These were the scores:

Gryffindor 3
Hufflepuff 5
Ravenclaw 3
Slytherin 4

I would have liked a bit more of a clear win, really; it's a bit random, isn't it? Still, it does look like a victory for Hufflepuff. Yay, I'd be happy to be a Puff and was very flattered by the comments about my alleged Hufflepuff qualities.

However, two of my besties on LJ, [livejournal.com profile] omi_ohmy and [livejournal.com profile] who_la_hoop, THEY didn't think I was a Hufflepuff. Oh no. They both clicked “absolutely certain” (they were the only people to do this) and they both said “Slytherin”. Hmm. Interesting. Ok, I'm a bit scared of this result, but can't say I'm not attracted to the devious and delicious snakes.

But, what if we look at people's second choice answers? The results for this were:

Gryffindor 7
Hufflepuff 2
Ravenclaw 5
Slytherin 1

Not a lot of support for Hufflepuff or Slytherin there. O_o

If you take this into account, with 2 points given for the first choice of house and 1 point for the second choice, you get:

Gryffindor 13
Hufflepuff 12
Ravenclaw 11
Slytherin 9

A COMPLETE SHAMBLES, yes?

I am really none the wiser. Therefore, I have decided to make my OWN HOUSE. It will be called Featherbeak. Our House colours will be... hmm. There's not much left, is there? How about purple and orange? Mmm, NICE! Featherbeak is for people who are, well, like me. We stand for, erm, fluff. And cock. And cake. Yay! My own House! Applications welcome. It is a bit lonely here in the common room at the moment.

Thank you very much to everyone who voted and especially for the very kind things that were said. I adored having everybody talk about me far more than I should have done, heh. If you still want to add a vote you can do it here.

While we are on the subject of Houses, I don't see much Hufflepuff hate around here, but I have seen it on the internet in general. I liked this article about Why Everyone Should Want to be a Hufflepuff.

Now, as a lovely reward for YOU, for having read this far, here's some super delicious art of Harry and Draco. *cue 'never wanting to come out of the closet' joke* ♥ ♥ ♥

I think Slytherins want the right kind of people around (think of Draco when he meets Harry and Slughorn in general) so that your two good friends think you belong with them makes sense. :D

Good essay--I always sort Hufflepuff and am not at all embarrassed or ashamed of it. All houses have pluses and minuses. It suits the story to focus on the negatives in Slytherin but there are times I'd definitely prefer them to Gryffindors. Also, can you imagine if Harry always thought everything through, weighing all the pros and cons? Adventures would have ended on Day 1. Heroes, almost by necessity, have to be a bit stupidly reckless as well as brave.

That essay used the graphic about Tonks and I want to say, I've seen it said she was a bad mom for leaving Teddy and rushing off to battle. I can't say I am a huge fan of hers generally but I think that's about the biggest pile of shit ever. She's an AUROR, it's her fucking JOB. Why do I never see anyone say, actually, of the two of them REMUS should have kept his sorry arse at home? Though he's the Gryffindor and never, ever would (look at Sirius) but that's not really the point. And I've gotten way off topic. ROFL

Anyway, I like being a Hufflepuff. I'm mostly an agreeable person who doesn't go off half-cocked or plot to take over the PTA. :P I'm pretty smart but not especially nerdy or pedantic and if you need a favor I'll do my best (most of the time). But I do see why each house has a purpose because you really don't want any one group/type of people in charge of everything.

That said, that Featherbeak House sounds pretty sweet. Especially the focus on cock. ;) Sorry for the tl;dr <3

Well, remember, by definition, Hufflepuff takes "the rest". LOL

Except Tonks didn't rush off to do battle, but to look for Remus. The first thing she says to Harry is that she couldn't stand not knowing and then asks where Remus is. A couple paragraphs later she's asking someone else about Remus.

Personally I think both Remus and Tonks are shit parents and have an incredibly unhealthy relationship.

Well, I do agree that their relationship appears to be the picture of dysfunction and they likely would have divorced by the time that Teddy was 5. It just seems to me that mothers are still judged more harshly than fathers when it comes to leaving their children and most of the times I've seen anyone say anything about her that's what it boils down to, "How could she leave Teddy?" but I rarely, if ever, see anyone wondering that about Remus. Men are just sperm donors it seems. *shrugs*

I honestly think they were both shits to leave so she's not getting all, or even most, of my scorn.

I guess I had given up on Remus by that point. He had already tried to run away so many times that I wasn't exactly shocked he'd choose possible death over staying with his son. I suppose I just wish Teddy had had one parent who cared enough to hang around.
