The subject line is the only thing I can think of to accurately describe my feelings on reading the A/N for the fic I am about to rec. Yes, I did flail. omi_ohmy has the incriminating evidence via email. :DDD I keep going back to check it ACTUALLY DOES SAY MY NAME on it, but, as of 9 pm this evening, it does. (I may take a screenshot just in case SG has a change of heart. You think I am kidding.) Anyway. I've finished breathing into a paper bag, just about. :D

Warnings: Seek ye not the serious things here. This is just happy fluff. It is AU in the sense that most of that HBP and DH unpleasantness is sort of irrelevant—in fact, the best way to describe the setting for this story is ‘fluffy!verse all grown up’.
Summary: this is a summery romantic comedy featuring my favourite ensemble cast, in which Harry is confused, Draco is Draco, and Hermione attempts to eat all the things.

Why I love it: This delicious, delicious fic! *hugs self*. I can't tell you all of the reasons I love it without totally spoiling it, but if I tell you that it begins with Ron dressed in a full-body lobster outfit, you might start to get the drift.

Harry is hopelessly smitten with the super-chic Draco, who hardly seems to know he exists. The PINING. My word, you'd better don your anti-pining cloaks before going in, unless you want to be assaulted by all the heart-clenching in the world. It's OK, though, even fluff-lovers can handle it. Harry is such an utter darling here. He's divinely lovable and I just wanted to squish him and shake him and pet him all at once.

As usual there is a stellar cast of canon characters and OCs. Special mentions for Blaise, who I found quite irresistible; Calvin, who Harry goes to for wardrobe advice when he decides perhaps his holey jumper and scruffbag jeans are preventing him from being noticed; and Pansy, who is an artist with a show titled... well, I'll let you enjoy that bit when you come to it.

There are so many fabulous ensemble scenes, complete with the funniest, and in Draco's case, the most mouthwatering, fancy dress costumes you can imagine.

I'm fairly sure many of my flist will have read this already, or are planning to do so, but just in case it's not next on your to-read list, please give yourself the treat of this perfect slice of summer. ♥

By the way, while the universe seems to be accepting cosmic orders from me this week, I would like art, please, of Draco in a shark costume, Ron as a lobster, Harry as a sea slug, and indeed any of the party scenes from this fic. Failing that I really need to see Pansy's exhibition in a gallery near me. EDITED BECAUSE THIS HAPPENED: art from the beauteous dannyfranx. Ha ha ha look at the Trio! And Draco's handsomw sharkiness ♥

MORE LOVELY STUFF
I was super lucky this week all round, because 0idontknow0 picked up one of my abandoned prompts at hp_adoptaprompt and made an amazing fic / art combination from it. I can't believe the work that must have gone into this: Like Fathers, Like Sons. If you feel like a kinky Next Gen adventure, with lots of explicit art, then go go go.

Then dysonrules said that "a bit" of her new WIP, Pseudo, was for me. I wonder which bit? I do hope it's the smut :D It starts super-gorgeously with a wonderfully drunken Draco coming on strong to Harry-in-disguise.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who came to capitu's party and made it such a joyful and friendly place. The party is still swinging if you want to join us, and there is plenty of fic and art to enjoy.

Well I am quite confused now. because Wiki says the following:

You OBVIOUSLY meant the NZ version. But you're from Aus. Which implies you meant "unfashionable and with poor social skills"! It's all quite a mystery, I can't work it out ;-)

I'm not sure why I can't think of an equivalent, all I can think of is "rummin" which is not helpful in the least. Do you say, "oh they're a bit of a cake"? It's kind of like that-

no-oo, that's not one we have in the UK, but I'm liking it a lot.

I don't think there will be an equivalent, it sounds like a uniquely Aus thing. If we want to refer to someone over here who is socially inept, unfashionable and all of that, we call them a wanker and there's no affectionate about it! I much prefer the idea that this could be seen as amusing, quirky and likeable. I think I need to move south immediately.

To be fair, I've never heard anyone but my Grandmother say it, but yes, I like it too.
It feels a bit free-for-all here when it comes to making stupid words. In regards to "dag" I have heard my mother use the term "snorker" whatever the hell that even means.

OH MY GOD though, I promise I did not just call you a wanker! You have the term "wag" right? I guess a dag is closer to that maybe. Wanker can be affectionate though, can't it? I use it affectionately D:

Wag in the UK would usually be used sarcastically for someone who thinks they are funny. Like "oh, he thinks he's quite the wag."

But yeah, you could use wanker affectionately. You wanker :D

Can I just comment-jack to say that I use the word 'snorker' to mean a sausage sandwich and I am from the north of england :D I suspect I got this from the awesome Terry Wogan, though, and he is Irish, so GOD KNOWS. I also love the idea of 'a bit of cake' ♥
