Well, this week LJ was a sod, so I had to go and play with my bit on the side, tumblr, instead, and read and look at lots of things on there. This means that this post is maybe a bit more about Sherlock than HP. I also had so much fun catching up on watching Graham Norton, with both Benedict Cumberbatch, and Daniel Radcliffe. I have not watched so much TV for months.

The Daniel Radcliffe interview was wonderful for the delicious anecdote about the director of Kill Your Darlings telling him to do “Crazy fucking sex kissing.” The prospect of seeing this alleged crazy-fucking-sex-kissing in the film one day is making me very happy, particularly as the lovely Dane deHaan is the co-kisser (and pleasingly pointy and pretty he is too). You can see part of the interview here (the kissing anecdote is right at the beginning of this segment).

I see from my flist that people are feeling very sad and cross about the new Star Trek film. I haven't seen it, but it sounds, erm, "interesting". However, this Benedict Cumberbatch / Chris Pine interview was so much fun because of all the fandom discussion. I don't know how genuine it is, but I do find BC's squirminess when asked to describe what his fans call themselves very appealing. I loved the interview he did with Caitlin Moran when he announces they should be called “Cumberpeople.” (In fact, the whole interview is a blast, here: I love “half past chaffinch” and, well, all of it.)

After they make him blush about his fans, they talk about who in the audience has come the furthest, to see either Benedict, or Chris Pine. When Graham speaks to various admirers of his, BC runs up into the audience to hug them. I think Graham Norton was honestly more excited than some of the fans. He goes “OHMYGOD OHMYGOD OHMYGOD OH OH OHHH” the whole time and it's all very entertaining.

Not to be outdone, Chris Pine goes up to hug some people, and inadvertently hugs a Cumberblogger, who, fabulously, BC recognises, and then there's a lovely comedy interlude, complete with a classic faux-shocked BC face and the phrase “You just kissed one of my bitches!” The segments with all this happening in are here (from 13.00) and here (about the first 5 minutes).

To finish off the nonsense for this week I have a REAL PERSON FIC REC :-o I don't think I have ever recced a RPF before. In fact, I'm not sure if I have read one before. This one is, er, not really taking the genre totally seriously. I haven't added any warnings, because the warnings would make reading the fic pointless, but be prepared for some black humour. (and if you want to enquire about the nature of the black humour before reading, please comment).

A Day Out With Benedict Cumberbatch

I have got some sensible recs, for H/D, too, but this post is long enough, plus as usual the fonts and spacings on LJ are driving me insane, so I'll do them later.

“Crazy fucking sex kissing" with pleasantly poiny co-kisser sounds very, very promising.

I'm not sure if I should read that RPF. Not because I doubt that it's funny, I love dark humour, but because the last time I read one of your recs it sent me on a Sherlock fic reading binge that I've not really recovered from yet. And I don't really have time for more fandoms. But I suppose BC RPF could be considered Sherlock fic, and that would make it okay.

I'm looking forward to your H/D recs.

I just read it and lol! yes, you're right. That was not something that will make me look for more RPF.

Normally I don't watch the Graham Norton show because it does make me cringe a lot but I did watch the Benedict Cumberbatch/Chris Pine one and I loved it!!! Didn't BC even say in one interview (I think it was an American one) that he preferred Cumberbabes to Cumberbitches?

Star Trek Into Darkness is superb. I won't hear a bad word said about it. *stern* Except for the cast listing Uhura ahead of McCoy, that makes me sad. And the couple of major plotholes, I suppose.

I loved Chris and Benedict with Graham - and I'd love to see Chris Pine's face when watching eurovision, he seemed totally baffled by the whole idea (and rightly so).

Daniel is adorable with Graham, too. I saw the poster for Cripple yesterday, and am quite tempted...

So excited for DanRad's upcoming projects! I especially love when he talks about KYS and Horns, and that bit particularly, I've heard him say that before I think. Ha. My obsession is showing.

And I watched and loved Star Trek, but I haven't been around enough lately to see what people are saying about it *shrugs*.

Oh that was an interesting read, I still loved it but it definitely has its issues, it's great that people are talking about it. *loves fandom*

That would make you the most amazing, oh my god. The cinema needs a "Crazy Fucking Sex Kissing" alert just for that scene tbh. \o/!
