I don't think I ever posted to dreamwidth before. I hate learning new things, but here I am to wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR and stuff. I don't know if anyone will even see this, because I was away when all the shit went down about the LJ TOS and I don't think I have friended anyone on DW... maybe I can work that out, hah!

Anyway I have no idea if people still chat on here or whether you are all at tumblr or the other mystical discord thing I hear tell of, but I'm alive, and I hope you are too, and doing well, and that 2018 brings much joy and wonderful things into your lives. ♥

Afaik you need to upload pics somewhere to post them here. I'm too lazy for that so I've never tried with my own pictures but used pics that are already online.

Other then that there are quite a few people from LJ over here, but it's all a bit less chatty then it was. Tumblr is a thing too. Twitter for others as well. Depends on the fandom and where it mainly gathers.

Well my 2018 is off to a good start. I'm so excited to see you posting here!! Welcome and I hope you stick around. I had a bit of a hard time transitioning from LJ to DW... it's pretty similar here, but just different enough that I was completely thoroughly lost for a little bit. If you need any help with it, I think I've got it mostly figured out--or at least I've gotten pretty good at flailing around until I stumble across what I'm looking for XD

Hiiiiiii! I'm so glad you're here! *HUGS* Don't worry too much about the learning curve here at DW. There's not really that much that's different imo, and you'll catch on to stuff quickly. I think the photo thing is the hardest part, but once you've got it, it's easy.

This is so relatable to me, ha :')
I've been trying to transition from LJ to DW these past few weeks. The fact that you can get your DW posts to crosspost automatically to your LJ is pretty cool (it functions well for me now, but at first there was a couple failures too, I woudn't worry too much).

Anyway, it's good to read you here. Happy New Year to you too <3

I feel you concerning the photo problem. Why they make it so difficult here on DW to post a pic or photo escapes me. And unfortunately LJ doesn't offer cross-posting to DW. Looks like we're stuck with this somewhat unwieldy platform... We'll get used to it! :)

Oh, GOD, bloody Dreamwidth, LOL. I can't get on with it because I don't like change but as others have said it's pretty similar to LJ (photo business aside) hence making it relatively intuitive. Hoping to be on here more in 2018 and seeing your icon is an added incentive!

I'm not on Tumblr or any other social network site, and basically just archive on AO3, so chat away here (or LJ still) and I'll see you.

You have to go through a whole rigamarole to upload pics on DW, which is why I don't do it often, and tend to find an image online with a URL instead. grrrr. It's really a huge pain, DW should update that much, at least. DW saya it's basically the old LJ program and I can see that plainly.
Stick it out, you get used to the awkwardness after a while (as evidenced by my social life ;) )

Btw, I thought your tag said 'utter donkey' and I was all 'I LOVE DONKEYS!', then realized it said 'dorkery'. I like dorks, too, so it's all fine.
