• I had a moment of madness and signed up for this:

The H/D Last Drabble Writer Standing contest at slythindor100. This runs for eight weeks, starting July 10th. Anyone want to join me? It's really fun and pretty exciting. Each week you get a word count and a prompt, and you have a few days to produce something. There are some fabulous people signed up and it's always brilliant to see the different styles and genre. I've signed up because I want the commitment of having to write something short every week and work on my brevity in general, so I hope I don't get booted out too fast.

• JKR reveals that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will open next year in London's West End. You can register here to get ticket information in the Autumn. I am really confused as to what this is about. JKR is being mysterious - and insists it is NOT a prequel, as previously reported. But I have heard that it is a story about James and Lily? So, who knows. Will you be trying to get tickets?

• Quick rec: An Aching Soul at hd_smoochfest, (H/D, NC-17, 15k, currently anon). Club!fic is my guilty pleasure, and this one is hot and visceral and the writing is lovely. It's 15k and whooshes along.

• I must finish my hd_collab. I MUST FINISH MY hd_collab. WHY AM I EVEN HERE? WHY DID I STAY UP LAST NIGHT PLAYING STARFIGHTER:ECLIPSE? (I totally got the Cain/Selene/Helios threesom, though, heh). I am now going to go and finish my hd_collab. Just as soon as I've showered, tidied my sock drawer, made a light snack, checked my flist and anything else I can think of to stave off the moment. *attempt at charming smile in mods' direction*

LOL! Oh, this made me laugh so hard -- go work, you! No more procrastinating! *cracks whip* ;) I still need to finish one of my collab pieces too to be honest, I'm being awfully irresponsible these days (but classes! SO TIRED! Grr.) I must say I totally loved that story as well! It's so beautifully written! :D :D

That's because we're collabing together. DID YOU NOT GET THE MEMO? They've put all the losers slow people into one giant collab together. The results are going to be amazing. We've got an extension until 2017. ;)

Yes, I am so excited you signed up! Do I recall correctly you wrote your first drabble only several weeks ago? And that you kept saying you found it hard and it made you nervous, but actually it was really lovely?

ALSO very excited there is Collab!fic coming from you :) You can do it! Write all the wonderful things, just like you always do! If you need some more cheering, I'll be happy to do so, tailor-made if you want to (wit h cheering seashore birds for example).

Well, yes and no about the drabbles. I did actually enter the LDWS two years ago, but I don't think I've written one since then (and I didn't honestly know what I was doing at the time). It really felt like starting all over again. But I'm sure it will be a laugh, whatever happens. Newish things do make me nervous, but it's good to challenge yourself a little bit. It's a very friendly contest, if you fancy trying your hand?

Yay for signing up for LDWS!
I did consider signing up, drabbles is one of my favourite things to write, and it seems like a lot of fun. (Scary, but fun :)) But in the end I took the sensible route and reminded myself that I've already signed up for too much, so I'll take the reader role :)

It would sound less like a prequel if she hadn't used "Harry Potter and the ..." in the title. And the story obviously involves him somehow, which seems awfully prequel-ish. She probably just doesn't want anyone to have any preconceptions when they go to see it. I'll probably get tickets if/when it makes it's way to Aus (and if the reviews are good). I think exploring the magical world on stage is an awesome idea though. They can do some really cools things with wires nowadays (to make things float etc.) and it's LIVE.

I did. Did my "I am so sick of this chop it off" a couple weeks ago, but my hairstyle is basically totally lazy grow out until it hits tailbone then chop to somewhere between brastrap and shoulder then repeat.

I told her that now she's invited me, if she has a fenced yard I would start showing up at random and leaving the kids out in the yard while I sat with her and talked about cocks. She replied with comments about the doghouse left by the previous owner and feeding twice a day.
