Yes, I can relate to that. I think I've pinned down now that the thing bothering me about the ambiguity is that there can be further pronouncements made now the series is finished. I do find that challenging in general. It's like, we all have a lot invested in our own head canons for these issues that were left ambiguous in canon. But, if JKR wants to, she can come along and say, nah, you've been thinking that for years, but, nope. As a control freak I find this concept quite difficult :D
