I forced myself to finish it (but I skipped a lot) and it Really Messed Me Up- Badly. Also Hate that it got made into a movie with Dan in it. (although from what I heard they toned down/cut off most of the really unpalatable stuff from the book so there's that at least. *you can't really have a "heartbreaking love story if the protagonist goes into a rant of what a B*** the girlfriend was for dumping him and how she/women deserve to end like (she did aka raped/dead) because they "play loose with their body/lead you on"- No joking that was in the book and it pissed me off)
that and... other things, I'm not going to go into details because it would give me anxiety again. (i'm willing to elaborate on a pm so as not to sour the post more)
so yeah, Not looking forward to that coming out at all. I can't wait for it to come out then for it to go away so It's not keeping me on edge anymore.
(from what I seen from the reception it got in TIFF most people didn't liked it. [as in, Dan gets heaped on praises (althought the "Best role of his Career" is BS because Equus and Kill Your Darlings were 100% better) and that it's "visually beautiful" but the movie itself gets criticized A LOT for being choppy and all over the place and not coherent at all].
if we're going by horror I liked The Woman in Black way better and "Frankenstein" looks way more promising.
glad I'm not the only one that couldn't stomach Horns (apologies for the mini rant)
