I never thought it was odd/sad/childish, well, I never had any negative feelings towards people who have a very strong preference about whether who tops. That's why I made the bottom!Harry and bottom!Draco tags at my community recs.
I think everybody is entitled to have their preference. Personally I never pick a favourite fic based on who tops.
Wait, that comes out all wrong because you don't "pick" a favourite story, they sort of explode into your life and leaving you filled with fannish joy. :D
But what I mean is, who tops is never something that makes me love more or less a story.
