I'm not sure I can answer your question about writing process very satisfactorily as I am not a very self-aware writer. It usually just happens and I have nothing to compare it to, really. I think when I am writing quirky humorous fics it does tend to flow out, but when it's something more intense I will often stop and ponder a word for a while. Long passages can at times come in a way that feels effortless, but, annoyingly, it's often at times like in the night, or walking through the park. I can sometimes be found tapping madly at mobile phone trying to get it all down at an inappropriate moment :DD
