A couple of people have asked if it is too late to join in. Not at all; Rectober runs all the way up until Oct 31st. There is more info here at my journal , but basically just post a rec, let me have your name if you'd like to be added to the list, and tag your post "rectober". That's it! All fandoms, all pairings, all genres welcome. Here's a list of the recs that were collected in the first week alone. Do browse the participants' journals if you'd like some recs, and if you have time, do leave some encouragement if you see recs being posted. ♥

If you are reccing: How are you finding it? Is it difficult to think of recs, or difficult to only choose your favourites? Are you enjoying it? Any problems? What would make it easier? Do you think you'll carry on after Rectober is over?

If you've been reading: Have you had some good tips? Found some gems, or revisited old favourites? Have you seen more people reccing than usual? Tried a new pairing, or maybe a new fandom? (*cough*  One Direction *cough*)

i feel a little bit ridiculous for the thrill i get when i go to that list of recs and hover over a rec that looks nice and then the link is to my journal. XD it's not that i forget i rec things, i'm just terrible at remembering titles (hence why i make recs in the first place; to not forget).

i need to kick myself in the arse a bit and crank out some more recs. i've a few i'm sitting on that are just waiting for me to write them out and post. ♥

Rectober has been super fun.

My to read folder has doubled, and I have discovered amazing stories through other people's recs.

I've recced some this moth outside the comm. Mostly art and different pairings, and it's been a blast. I'm definitely going to keep reccing.

I hope the authors and artists are feeling the difference, and people are commenting on the recs they've enjoyed.

I think what I love about reccing is introducing people to a story, a community, a fantart. They might forget about me, but dude, they might fall in love with the work and yeah, that's what makes it awesome, the sharing, that maybe you'll make someone love something they might not have found if not for a rec. <3

I'm not sure mine are recs so much as 'oh god, please don't let me be alone in this' :DDDD That rec post was more fun to write than my usual style of reccing though, so I might do that in future.

I have definitely seen more people reccing than usual!
