haha I think it means both all at once- just focus on the affectionate part. I'm not sure why I can't think of an equivalent, all I can think of is "rummin" which is not helpful in the least. Do you say, "oh they're a bit of a cake"? It's kind of like that- This is strangely proving to be the most difficult thing to explain...
