They put everything back as they found it, and backed out of the room, with wands drawn.As they stepped over the threshold, the room shimmered with a rainbow-coloured haze, then abruptly vanished out of existence with a loud pop, as if it had never been there.
Harry gaped at the void left by the mysterious room, and felt Malfoy's hand clutching at his arm. “Merlin, Potter, I've never seen anything like it.” His voice was shaky.
“There is some seriously weird shit in this place.” Harry tried to laugh, but in truth he was as unsettled as Malfoy seemed.
“Listen... it's almost five o'clock. Let's knock off early. I could definitely use a drink.” Malfoy's eyes were quite fascinating, with their flecks of silver, when you stood this close.
Harry liked the sound of that. “You're on.”
Perhaps Malfoy had forgotten that he was still holding Harry's arm, because he didn't let go. His grasp was firm and warm as they turned and walked towards the stairs together.
“So... did that code ring any bells for you?”
Harry shook his head.
Malfoy raised an eyebrow. “After we've had a drink, do you fancy some UST with your EWE, or just a PWP?”
“Hmm.” Harry pretended to mull it over. “They all sound good.”
“Think we can crack this mystery?”
Harry laughed. “I reckon we'll work it out eventually.”
