This year hd_fan_fair are continuing their themed fests with a pet fair. I always love this fest and would really like to claim something, but I have to admit, I am not great with pets, or animals, or even creatures at all, really. If anyone can prompt a scenario that is slightly kinky or sexy which has some connection to animals or magical creatures (er... but not like that, sorry. Bestiality is not one of my kinks) I would be MOST GRATEFUL. You can find all the info if you click the banner below...

And, while you're there, you might want to think about CLAIMING a prompt, and I have left some THRILLING AND RIDICULOUS prompts that you might like to consider. ;)

Animal/Animal-shaped Form: Peacocks
Scenario: The Auror department decides to take a leaf out of the Muggle police force’s book and use highly-intelligent, trained animals to help them fight crime. Imagine Harry’s joy when faced with his new Auror Peacock which is going to accompany him on all missions in future. Not to mention its trainer, who just happens to be Draco Malfoy, peacock expert.
Additions: Lots of humour, please? The peacocks could actually be really useful and Harry might come round to the idea? Or, they could be shit and cause chaos :D. Either way, lots of snarkiness between H and D, please. ART for this would also be amazing.

Animal/Animal-shaped Form: Owl
Scenario: Harry is trying out either a dating service, or a lonely hearts ad in the Prophet. His potential suitors send messages by owl trying to woo him. The only problem is that he works with Draco, who keeps intercepting the owls and ripping the piss out of all of Harry’s potential dates.
Additions: Draco is of course, jealous, which is why he tries to put Harry off all his suitors. Myabe he also owls Harry himself (without revealing his true identity) and arranges to meet him on a date?
Era: Post-Hogwarts

Animal/Animal-shaped Form: Giant Squid
Scenario: The Great Lake at Hogwarts is in danger. The creatures living in there are struggling/dying. Legend (an old book?) states that a similar thing like this happened hundreds of years ago and through magical intervention, the crisis was averted, but no record remains of what was done to protect the Lake. Harry is working on a solution and suspects the Giant Squid, as the oldest living creature in the Lake, may have some answers. He seeks help from Draco - an expert in Legilimency - to try to get the answers from the squid’s memory.
Additions: Sexy diving gear (thigh wand holsters, anyone?), UST, kissing (or more? yes please) in the lake

Animal/Animal-shaped Form: Snake
Scenario: Draco has a pet snake. The snake is a key witness to a crime and needs to be interviewed by the Aurors... but there is only one Auror who is a Parselmouth.
Additions: Harry suspects Draco of being implicated in the crime at first? He was also present but was asleep / Stunned / under Imperio?
The snake likes the heat of Draco’s body (has to be close to Draco for survival, as it is cold blooded?) and this leads to situations where Harry has to get closer to Draco than he might feel comfortable, especially as Harry has to keep eye contact while speaking to the snake. For example, speaking to the snake which is tucked inside Draco's half-open shirt. Draco is quite aware of the effect this closeness is having on Harry. But he wasn’t expecting the effect that Harry speaking Parseltongue would have on him.
Maybe the snake likes Harry and thinks he and Draco should get together, which leads to further embarrassing situations when it discusses this with Harry.

Animal/Animal-shaped Form: Dragons
Scenario: Harry and Draco work with dragons. The dragons bond with their human carers to form a close, sometimes telepathic link. When the dragons mate (in the air), the humans experience the same sexual attraction through the bond. (This is based on Anne McCaffrey's Pern series, but you don't need any knowledge of the books for this prompt)
Additions: Quidditch on dragonback? Can be a total Pern crossover or you can just write something based on the above idea, without any knowledge of Pern. Dubcon due to the overwhelming feelings created when the dragons mate is FINE BY ME.
Era: Any

Good gracious, I only read the prompts out of curiousity since I'm not the world's biggest animal devotee, but NOW I'm thinking about claiming one of these! The owl prompt appeals, I know I could write some yummy, sexy fluff for that. The snake prompt is very interesting too, reminds me of my days as a snake owner (see profile pic) (yes, the albino snake was named Voldy)... I'm sure I could turn that into some serious smut.

AHAhahaha fuck me I'm such a doofus! Will it help if I tell you I liked some of the other ones, too? The dragon one is tempting, as I've just finished the first book in the Temeraire series and I spent a large part of that book wondering if the author was really hinting at a dragon/human romance. I mean, they are awfully soft on each other. And given the author's predilictions, I assume it might be on purpose.

Any road, I may or may not write for this fest... *whistles innocently*

Ah such lovely prompts! I was only able to come up with one a bit ago but may give it an other go if my muse strikes. There is a prompt I spotted a bit ago that convinced me I needed to write for this fest. I only hope I can claim it first!

Stanley is the large willow-pattern mint beetle (nattily dressed in snow-booties) that Harry and Draco are walking. From All Life is Yours to Miss bysaras_girl. If you haven't yet had the pleasure of his acquaintance, there's a very lovely long fic awaiting you.

Oh, yes, you MUST read it, macca, it's absolutely amazing. We were all obsessed with it when she wrote it and the beautiful art from the fanfair banner is from an illustration that was made for it. I also made a playmobil version *snigger* and an embroidered version. It's one of the most delightful things I have ever read <333

Oh, I haven't seen Kung Fu Panda, but if it has bad ass peacocks in it, that's totally what I'm after ;) Pecking dark wizards into submission. Or, being crap and just pouffing their tails up all the time in a haughty fashion. Either one would be fab.

HAHAHAHAH oh my god, I love fandom. Lololol, look at that. That's insanely lovely. Or just plain insane, probably, but that's what fandom is at times. So crazy and fun and creative and I think I love Stanley already and I haven't even read the story yet. The fic seems amazing though judging from the artwork - all wacky and domestic.

You absolutely mad, brilliant woman! You did good with that. It was time well spent. Who needs clean bathrooms anyway? Pfft. Overrated.

Imagine if you'd never mentioned Stanley! I might've never questioned it and simply kept on thinking it was a random piece of artwork.

I've just remembered, too - saras_girl wrote a fic for me, an absolutely gorgeous one called This Summer - and she said she was dedicating it to me because of playmobil Stanley, LOL. I just reread the story this week and it is such a total joy (as is everything she has ever written - I wholeheartedly recommend it all without exception). So my bathroom-neglecting insanity paid off, heh heh ;)

AND...I'm BLOWN AWAY by your Pern crossover. Where has this been all my life? Lessa / F'lar first time was a classic, classic moment. McCaffrey had a knack for characterization. Someone must write it.
