I'm just soooo gratified to hear all of the things you think about this, and all of the things it made you feel! The thing about the knifepoint and the chocolate and the roses and the pillows is bloody hilarious and brilliant, hehehe! I'm SO GLAD you love Scorpius and felt cross for Scorpius and want to punch and strangle people for Scorpius. I'm delighted to hear it was so visceral.
And as for this: at the same bloody time I was like *whispers* keep being such an arse, Draco!
Were you really? OMG! *hugs self*
I had a moment, a real moment, of panic when I thought, this can't end well. This is going to end with Draco unceremoniously letting Scorpius get his heart broken, and then telling Scorpius it was his fault in the first place.
AHHHHHHH did you REALLY think that? GOLLY. How fabulous. I wish I had done it hahahaaaaa, still there's always next time.
SOMEHOW, everything is ok. How did you do that?!?!
Well, I think, by being quite ridiculous and just clagging on a happy ending, quite possibly. ;) No, I mean I did try to walk that line. I was worried there was actually too much angst in there, I didn't want to give grace a gift that wasn't even enjoyable, but lovely lq_traintracks pointed out that it was the mix of misery and happiness that people enjoyed last time. So then I put some MORE angst in, just a little bit, and then we read it again and we made the ending just that teensy smidge happier. So, I still don't know if we got it quite right, but we did think about it a lot, for what it's worth!
the overall impression that this situation, and this three-way relationship, is somehow tenable
OOoh, I'm glad you think that. I was worried that in this installment the cracks are starting to show. I mean, I think they ARE. But that doesn't mean I don't want them to carry on fucking and being cocks to each other and swooning with happiness and failing to share nicely and basically, bumming the life out of Albus Potter, twistedly ever after.
It's masterful, is what it is.
Oh! *melts into your arms*
I did angst over this quite a lot (errrr, sometimes quite loudly, in your direction, sorry), but hearing all of your thoughts and reactions makes it SO worth it. ♥
