Yes, 2nd person can suit shorter fics better. I started reading one the other day and it was 12k and I thought, WHOA! You crazy, bold writer! And then it changed POV to 3rd, and alternated throughout. But I don't know if I would have minded if it had continued - it was really good. I loved the 2nd person passages.
It's interesting that different POVs are popular in different fandoms. It would be really cool to see stats on that.
