I am left really cold by him, and sort of irritated, and I find the film version strangely bland and often really cringey. I want to LOATHE a villain, to be left feeling shivery all over by him, or horrified, or frightened, or something MORE than what I feel for Voldemort. I love what JKR did with the young Tom Riddle. But Voldemort... I just don't know.
