This gives me a lot of thoughts on villains.... but I will refrain from the urge to write a post about it :D It's so true though, there are so many different kinds of villains who touch us in different ways (snort... sorry, I'm 26 on the outside but a 12 year old boy on the inside). I think you are hitting something with your thoughts on Voldemort; there's a reason people have mentioned Umbridge more than him. He's very defacto villain and has a philosophical issue (not the right word) with death and power and whatever; also Umbridge's torture is on-screen and visible.
But if I continue I will go on forever... and it's late and I'm making no sense anyways.
