When I made my post of thanks recently, I forgot to say thank you to anyone who voted for Twelve Days of Draco at the hpfanficfanpoll awards. I am actually really proud of this ridiculous fic, so it was lovely to know that other people enjoyed it too.



I have also been beaming at all the loveliness on lokifan's Love Meme:



And I am laughing at how some people are still immediately recognisable even when they are commenting anonymously. Is it the same distinctive people for everybody, do you think? Or is it just that I know the people I spotted pretty well?

Anyway, I have no idea about the etiquette of such a thing - it seems like it isn't done to actually reply on the thread? And as people are anon they would not get a notification anyway...? But I wanted to say thank you for the very kind and lovely things that people have posted. THANK YOU. ♥

Aaaaand apparently it's blow my own trumpet day, because I wanted to share my freaky news that my fic Hungry has got 10,000 hits on AO3. I have no idea what makes people find it in searches and click on it so much. Is it because it's Eighth Year? Forced Bonding? Because it's got Millicent Bulstrode in it? Errrr? Anyway, I am delighted, not least because it means I can tell Mr Birds that there are definitely MORE than twenty H/D fans in the world (he says the H/D corner of HP fandom is the most niche thing he has ever heard of and will not believe that we are in fact legion :D)

Finally, I am just going to leave these here where I can find them. You never know when I might need them:

The colours are so lush! I really like the red and black shirt, and the blue suit. And as for what's in the clothes...  even prettier.

Oh! One more pretty! This is what happens when I save things up to post. A big soupy mess :D I love the banners for hd_owlpost.

Sometimes you need to prioritise writing. All of the fic will still be there to read, after you have finished your familyfest piece.

I wouldn't mind betting you start another multi-chap soon. I bet that's sort of addictive :DD

I know, 10,000 hits. What on earth?? It's always been that one fic, the hits just ratchet up steadily every week. I get more Kudos most days on that, than on whatever's my current fest fic. And I have no idea why. O_o

I had to go look at it in awe. :-DDD I'm sorry I never read it. I haven't read any of the Smoochfest fics yet. Which, yes, makes me a shitty participant. But I had extenuating RL circumstances at the time it posted and just couldn't bring myself. Congratulations, though! God, that's just amazing and I'm so happy for you!

Gosh, you don't have to justify that! We all have times when we read and comment faithfully, and others where it just can't happen for whatever reason. Thank you for going to look at it in awe :DD And for the congratulations, although I don't feel like it's anything I *did*, it just sort of happened!

Thanks, Birds. But to write for a fest and then not read ANY of the other creations? (I think I managed to comment on a couple pieces of art.) I think most mods, at least, would be pretty pissed at that author. But I just really, really couldn't.

As you know, I'm new to AO3. The thought of that many people clicking on my fic is so odd. Although, as who_la pointed out, it's probably a lot less than 10,000 in reality, but even so - it's a lot of people I don't know reading my fic O_o
