Come and sort me

Being confused and possibly a bit unimpressed by the Hello Quizzy sorting thingy, and also perplexed by some LJ friends' results, I tried the Harry Potter Character quiz wotsit, and got blimming GRINDELWALD! Oh yes. Apparently I am Clever, Conceited and Dangerous. O_o

I need better results than these. Come and sort me. I struggle to feel an affiliation with any house, try as I might. I can see aspects of myself in each house's traits, but then when I read the rest of the description it's a big old nope.

Feel free to ask me relevant questions and to ~~assassinate my character~~ explain your answers in the comments, if you want to.

I honestly haven't got a feel for myself fitting into any house. I sort of want to tell you lots of reasons why I *wouldn't* fit into any of them.

Well, people seem to have made their mind up now (i.e. ALL OVER THE PLACE :D) so I will come back to say why I was flattered by your comments, but I don't think I am a Gryff. Apart from not being a terribly courageous sort, I am also an introvert and quite cautious. I am stubborn, proud, volatile, and concerned with justice, so I could probably scrape in, but I would struggle a bit with all that extroversion and reckless behaviour.

Given this focus on not violating the secrecy of the ballot box, I think you're focused on fairness in a puff way and you're so adorably caring and exciteable... Ravenpuff is what I say, but puff as your main house. :P

That's lovely! I am interested in fairness, definitely. I like this late swing towards Hufflepuff, it's very heart-warming.

I'll play. I am quite unsure, of course, but I think your sense of humor leads me to say Slytherin. There's a bit of deviousness there that I associate with the house. (That said, I do not find you to be one of those overly ambitious/seeking greatness Slytherins, but rather, one who is completely awesome, smart, with just a hint of wickedness (in the best sort of way). And maybe you like to achieve your ends, but they're just less self serving than the Slytherin stereotype...? That said, I almost went 50/50 with Gryffindor. It's a really tough call. And your constant adorable flailing throws me a bit, because, I don't know, that seems a bit more like a Hufflepuff, but I just... there's a streak in your writing that makes me believe that's a bit too simple for you. I'm just rambling. But I'd say some Slytherin/Gryffindor combo, which, really, is somewhat close to our Harry, isn't it? Perhaps the hat would let you choose between the two, in the end.

I dont know. hee! Who are your favorite characters? Does that lend a clue as to where you belong and who you identify with? It's fun to think about.

Erm. I really like most people. I have to say that *cough* Draco is really my favourite. But Harry is my favourite on other days. I just adore both of them in different ways. Other than them, I recently discovered my love for Remus, as you know. I also adore Snape, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna, Lucius Malfoy, and I have a soft spot for the Weasley twins, too. So, that narrows it down. Err. I have trouble with Sirius. I really wish I could love him. Does that help?

I do UTTERLY like to achieve my ends, by the way. You can be quite sure of that. If I seem like I don't, it's because I've learned that it doesn't look very pretty. :DD

arcadianmaggie was sorted like Harry by Pottermore. Pottermore actually gave her a choice whether she wanted to be Slytherin vs. Gryffindor. (She chose Slytherin.) That's sort of how I imagine you'd end up sorting yourself as well.

You wish you could like Sirius? I don't feel strongly one way or another about him. I wish I could like Ron and some of the other Weasleys more. I just... don't really care for them much. Too much emotion and not enough reasonable consideration/awareness for me. But, then, that's why I'm Lupin. ;)

I like the way (apart from the fact that he's just very clever and cute) that he obviously hasn't read the books, just watched the films. He thinks Ginny is called "Jenny" and he doesn't understand the plot of POA (which you wouldn't, of course).

Right there is a complete spread of votes now so I am just going to say my piece. I love that you mentioned my flailing. They would chuck me straight out of Slytherin for that, wouldn't they? I wouldn't last 5 minutes.

I am one of those people who thinks it would be cool to be a Slytherin, but would actually be terrified and out of their depth. I am very expressive, in fact my face is laughably expressive and if I don't like someone I can't even pretend that I do, I just can't physically do it. Other than that I could maybe pass as a snake; if given the choice, though, I would ask to be placed somewhere else. Although many of my most beloved fandom people identify as Slytherin, I imagine it as being a scary place, and I would rather try to achieve my ends amongst a lot of Hufflepuffs, for instance, who wouldn't see me coming, hehhehe.

I had that happen when I was sorted too. I like to say I'm the anti-Potter because I was whispering "Not Gryffindor, not Gryffindor" while taking the test. When the choice came up I jumped all over Slytherin.

Haha! A lot of people want to be in Slytherin. People who are not H/D fen don't get this, I think. I have a lovely friend who keeps buying me Gryffindor merch. She just assumes I like Gryffindor the best, because "that's the good house".

I see that deviousness you're talking about, but to me it's more like the Weasley twins. Jovial rather than dry or malicious.

I love you being 'absolutely certain' I belong in Slytherin. I want to believe. But, the flailing. Someone upthread called it "the adorable flailing". They would eat me alive for that, surely? There'd just be my feet and a bit of ear or something left at the end.

I'm sure people are allowed to flail, even in Slytherin. Though perhaps they flail in private... :D

I put Hufflepuff, just because I get that kind of energy from you--you're nice and bubbly and seem to want everyone to be happy. You seem to have a strong sense of community and like to avoid negativity. And those are qualities I associate with Hufflepuff in my mind.

ETA: After reading the other comments, I feel the need to say that unless you're presenting yourself very differently to how you actually are, I don't see a Slytherin bone in your body. ;) I hope that's okay. But you don't strike me as self-serving or manipulative and you don't give me strong social climber/ambition vibes either.

I think people just like you, so they want to sort you into their favourite house.

You were the first person to say Hufflepuff! I was starting to feel offended that no-one thought I was nice enough to be in Hufflepuff :DD

I love your comments and I love the way everyone has a different perception of me, in fact, it's hilarious (and very ego-stroking). If I could choose my character, I think I would like to be a Hufflepuff. Unfortunately I'm really not a very loyal, well-balanced, hard-working or steady person, though, but I love that you see my attempts at Hufflepuffness; I am really chuffed by it.

I have done thinkings and decided that you are a Hufflepuff, and this is why:

Sorting Hat wisdom. I can't quite place you into any of the four houses and as *you* don't identify with any particular one either, Hufflepuff seems the place for you. It always seemed to me as though Helga took those more uncertain or just all-round-fabulous students as well as the hard-working sweeties that are emblematic of her house. You have a great sense of humour and are just lovely to talk to, and I agree with the missus about the community spirited-ness.

I am definitely uncertain and NATURALLY all-round fabulous. I am also lazy, moody, fickle and over-emotional. I think I might get chucked out of Hufflepuff - can you imagine! The Hufflepuff reject! I'd need therapy.

I think Hufflepuffs are allowed to be emotional. Now if you'd been in Ravenclaw, that sort of thing could get you in trouble ;)
