Come and sort me

Being confused and possibly a bit unimpressed by the Hello Quizzy sorting thingy, and also perplexed by some LJ friends' results, I tried the Harry Potter Character quiz wotsit, and got blimming GRINDELWALD! Oh yes. Apparently I am Clever, Conceited and Dangerous. O_o

I need better results than these. Come and sort me. I struggle to feel an affiliation with any house, try as I might. I can see aspects of myself in each house's traits, but then when I read the rest of the description it's a big old nope.

Feel free to ask me relevant questions and to assassinate my character explain your answers in the comments, if you want to.

[Poll #1932618]

You're bold but fair, clever, and you have a fantastic sense of humour. You're a Gryffindor to me. ;)

[identity profile] tamlane.livejournal.com 2013-09-05 04:44 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL

I guess you'll be really pissed at me for that if you fancy yourself a Slytherin, eh? :P

Given this focus on not violating the secrecy of the ballot box, I think you're focused on fairness in a puff way and you're so adorably caring and exciteable... Ravenpuff is what I say, but puff as your main house. :P

I'll play. I am quite unsure, of course, but I think your sense of humor leads me to say Slytherin. There's a bit of deviousness there that I associate with the house. (That said, I do not find you to be one of those overly ambitious/seeking greatness Slytherins, but rather, one who is completely awesome, smart, with just a hint of wickedness (in the best sort of way). And maybe you like to achieve your ends, but they're just less self serving than the Slytherin stereotype...? That said, I almost went 50/50 with Gryffindor. It's a really tough call. And your constant adorable flailing throws me a bit, because, I don't know, that seems a bit more like a Hufflepuff, but I just... there's a streak in your writing that makes me believe that's a bit too simple for you. I'm just rambling. But I'd say some Slytherin/Gryffindor combo, which, really, is somewhat close to our Harry, isn't it? Perhaps the hat would let you choose between the two, in the end.

I dont know. hee! Who are your favorite characters? Does that lend a clue as to where you belong and who you identify with? It's fun to think about.

[identity profile] icmezzo.livejournal.com 2013-09-05 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha! My good friend [livejournal.com profile] arcadianmaggie was sorted like Harry by Pottermore. Pottermore actually gave her a choice whether she wanted to be Slytherin vs. Gryffindor. (She chose Slytherin.) That's sort of how I imagine you'd end up sorting yourself as well.

You wish you could like Sirius? I don't feel strongly one way or another about him. I wish I could like Ron and some of the other Weasleys more. I just... don't really care for them much. Too much emotion and not enough reasonable consideration/awareness for me. But, then, that's why I'm Lupin. ;)

Oh, I'm very impatient. This will be difficult. Read to me while we wait?

[identity profile] icmezzo.livejournal.com 2013-09-05 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
WHAT? THAT'S how it ends? SPOILERS! lol.

j/k, j/k. Hmm. I should learn so that song. Did you know I was (once upon a time) an opera singer? If I can spit out recitatives in foreign languages, I can certainly spit out 2 minutes of HP (most of which) I actually understand? YOUR KIDS ARE GOING DOWN. lololololol

[identity profile] icmezzo.livejournal.com 2013-09-05 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm working from home today, can you tell? I'm abusing my freedom by playing on LJ all day. But I never get to talk to you Brits otherwise! *justifies all the things*

[identity profile] icmezzo.livejournal.com 2013-09-05 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha! Of course. Gods, even I struggle with POA at points. Leap of faith ahoy!

[identity profile] ms-hecubus.livejournal.com 2013-09-05 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I had that happen when I was sorted too. I like to say I'm the anti-Potter because I was whispering "Not Gryffindor, not Gryffindor" while taking the test. When the choice came up I jumped all over Slytherin.

[identity profile] tamlane.livejournal.com 2013-09-05 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I see that deviousness you're talking about, but to me it's more like the Weasley twins. Jovial rather than dry or malicious.

Annnnd. I'm talking about Birds like she's canon or something.

[identity profile] ashindk.livejournal.com 2013-09-05 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
GRYFFINDOR!
You're not afraid to speak your mind, and you have a great sense of humour.
You're George Weasley (not Fred, because I want to keep you alive).

And I really know where you're coming from with the character quiz thingy. It told me that I'm very arrogant, and then told me that I'm Remus Lupin. Whut?!? Really?!? I suppose I may be kind of arrogant, but Remus Lupin is THE FREAKING OPPOSITE OF ARROGANT!!!

[identity profile] ashindk.livejournal.com 2013-09-05 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Cautious, mature, arrogant and weird.... No, I don't think that equals the wizarding worlds version of Hitler.

I am kind of arrogant IRL, but I really, really can't see the word applied to Lupin. At all! That would be like caling Bellatrix Lestrange calm and rational.

Oh, please. The very existence of this post says Slytherin. Come to the dark side, we have the best hair :D

OK, OK, I voted! Sheesh. :D

Actually, I don't think the phone app works that well, as I totally didn't notice there was a poll to take, oops.

PS. Being in Slytherin is GOOD for your hair, I swear.

Well, it does one no good to dither. Besides, think of the midnight feasts!

I'm sure people are allowed to flail, even in Slytherin. Though perhaps they flail in private... :D

I put Hufflepuff, just because I get that kind of energy from you--you're nice and bubbly and seem to want everyone to be happy. You seem to have a strong sense of community and like to avoid negativity. And those are qualities I associate with Hufflepuff in my mind.

ETA: After reading the other comments, I feel the need to say that unless you're presenting yourself very differently to how you actually are, I don't see a Slytherin bone in your body. ;) I hope that's okay. But you don't strike me as self-serving or manipulative and you don't give me strong social climber/ambition vibes either.

I think people just like you, so they want to sort you into their favourite house.

I have done thinkings and decided that you are a Hufflepuff, and this is why:

Said Hufflepuff, "I'll teach the lot/And treat them just the same."

Sorting Hat wisdom. I can't quite place you into any of the four houses and as *you* don't identify with any particular one either, Hufflepuff seems the place for you. It always seemed to me as though Helga took those more uncertain or just all-round-fabulous students as well as the hard-working sweeties that are emblematic of her house. You have a great sense of humour and are just lovely to talk to, and I agree with the missus about the community spirited-ness.

*hugs Sorting Hat*

[identity profile] saras-girl.livejournal.com 2013-09-06 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
I think Hufflepuffs are allowed to be emotional. Now if you'd been in Ravenclaw, that sort of thing could get you in trouble ;)

[identity profile] dannyfranx.livejournal.com 2013-09-05 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I went with Hufflepuff as well, you just seem really lovely, positive and upbeat as well as being quite community minded. Your posts always make me feel warm and smiley.

Hufflepuff!

No matter what I got, I wanna be a puff. Let's puff together, Birds. :D

I say Slytherin. Because of peacocks. And my amazing insight into your character. Well, Slytherin or Gryffindor. Depending on the day.

I am NOT happy with any of my results on those quizzy things. I am going to do them again today and see if I can't get someone better. Now if that isn't Slytherin, I don't know what is - so we can be Slytherins together. :D
