Oh, I was being ridiculous! I had this sudden flash of you saying "for instance, did you read that terrible one about *insert plot of birds' fic*" DDD: LOL! As if you would say that in a public place like this anyway! I completely agree, we all have our own likes and dislikes, and it's not always related to quality or otherwise. A more extreme situation, but it can be a bit mortifying if you know a friend is probably waiting on a comment from you, and you can't even read their fic because it has x y z.
I also enjoy the safeness of LJ, and don't really welcome criticism, even concrit, from anyone except trusted betas, if I am honest. But it can be interesting to discuss the good and bad points of a fic and I do sometimes do that via email with a friend. I often come at it from the angle of wanting to learn more about writing - "in this fic, abc just didn't work for me and I don't really know why. Why did that happen? What would have made it better?" Rather than "bloody hell did you see that utter tripe?" :D Feel free to email if you would like such discussion (having checked first it is not mine, auugh)
I am just going back to comment further on my lovely prompt art <3
