H A P P Y B I R T H D A Y D U S T M O U T H !

Dear [livejournal.com profile] dustmouth,

I am sure you have long ago fallen over, and i hope you are now sleeping soundly, having had a joyful day, but it is still your birthday HERE, so I don't completely fail. It's a semi-fail. I did, however, fail to finish your present (and fail by about a billionty at getting it to you). So you don't get inappropriately excited, here is the WIP, and I hope you like the idea, at least. I would certainly have finished the outline today, but I ran out of navy thread (and I was only using navy thread because I'd run out of black... you see how well-thought this whole project was). I love to sew, but I can't remember the last time I did. There are always babies around. My children saw me sewing and said "What are you DOING?"

Anyway, this is to say a small THANK YOU for all the lovely arts you give us. ♥ I have no idea why I thought you would like an ineptly sewn copy of your own work, but there you have it. :D I will send it to you when it's done and you can use it to clean up spills with, or something ;-)

Remus and Sirius

Sirius

Sirius' eye was HARD. This was second attempt and it's still not right. If I unpick it and redo with a felt tip, please pretend not to notice :D

Say no to cock ups! I believe in you ;D

Well can I say, thankyou FOR ripping off my art, it's about the coolest and best compliment I can get. And it was such a lovely thought- I'm all for being people's excuse though, so cheers to that.

It was good! Surprisingly so. I had my dutiful happy birthday phone calls, with an excessive double whammy from either of my parents, and my friends made me a rather dodgy picnic on the waterfront, though it was far too windy for candles. We returned home feeling rather smug with ourselves all the same.
My sister made me a rather odd tasting cake in the shape of the eye of Sauron (note the cream egg as the eye) which promptly fell apart the moment I stepped in the door, and my cat made a grand show of deigning to sit on my lap, even when it was far too hot for such behaviour. A good day all round, I'd say.
And then I woke up thismorning at a leisurely eight o'clock to find this beauty <3

Snow?! What is this, isn't it meant to be spring where you are? It feels like I'm just having spring for you then... I'll happily trade-

I forgot to say how much I love the little stitches in Sirius' hair to make the shadow, it's just beautifully done. It's really interesting to see the way that you've interpreted the line art actually. And I don't see any cockups so far, so you're doing well! I will eagerly await the sounds of progress then :D

Ugh I've got the same problem, summer is just staunchly refusing to bugger off.

Oh but I like that the best, it's literally one of my favourite things, one person looking at the other, without the other noticing. So I'm happy (actually you could literally do anything and I would still be over the moon- this is literally the loveliest thing that anyone has done for me in the longest time <3 )
